Diet for the boat
Looking for ways to reduce the weight of the cat.
Some ideas: Currently using 2 of the large/racing Stainless Marine sea strainers. How about removing one strainer, have both water pickups feed the remaining strainer and have both engines feed off of it. The strainer already has the fittings. See photo. I seldom use drive trim (except for removing props) or seldom move the tabs (independently):how about using one pump to trim both drives and one pump to adjust both tabs. They would adjust as pairs. I think the Zynetix/Fountain Super V used these ideas. What're your opinions? Thanks John |
I dont see how taking these few things out will make that much difference in weight. You are talking about maybe 75 lbs? if that.... In a boat that weight how many thousands of pounds, it is a minute amount of weight.

Chris- You're correct, but 75 here and 75 there: before you know it you can have a significant amount of weight removed.
Thanks John |
Can't run a single trim pump to both sides. You can, however, downgrade to a little teeny pump that may save a few pounds and take three times as long to trim.
With a single pump, there is still push down on one drive and the other will go up... |
Invite one less passenger along and you have your 75 plus already gone,no muss,no fuss :)
