I read a good article on the GT 40 and its suppose to cruise and feel good at 180mph not really an off the line car. ALTHOUGH, they also said it would be able to protect its heritage if a vette or viper pulled up along side at a light. LOVE IT

Thumbs up

Looks and sounds good in person too.
I was lucky enough to get a close up view a couple weeks ago.

Very sweet job on SVT's part.

Smokin...That's my kind of car. I would just need a Top Gun to round out the stable

I was lucky enough to get a ride in a "street" version of the original GT-40 about fifteen years ago. It featured a 427 side oiler motor prepped by Holman-Moody. It dyno'd out at 675 horsepower, at the rear wheels. The rear tires were HUGE, back in the days before all the cars had wide tires. It was unbelievable. I've driven/ridden in 9 427 Cobras and this thing would smoke them easily. It turned 11.1 quarter mile times. The owner claimed the car would turn 200 mph. I have no reason not to believe him. He took me to 160 effortlessly. Almost as much fun as an offshore boat.

I too, have ridden in an original GT-40. If I had the cash, I would buy a new one in a hearbeat. They look to hold very true the heritage of the name = badass.

That car has quite possibly jumped to the head of the, "If I won the lottery I would buy " list, wow!
