I can't even talk about the Cubs, yet. Those guys should've been able to rise above some guy deflecting a foul ball. They CHOKED!!

Frequency 10-16-2003 07:53 AM

I can't believe ANYONE is surprised the Cubs lost. The Cubs aspire to failure. Cub fans aspire to misery.

This is simply an example of the Cubs reaching for and achieving the next level. They blew it brilliantly.
:D

Audiofn 10-16-2003 07:56 AM

Was very bummed out to see them loose.

When that guys in the stands "interfered" with that foul ball, the momentum changed and the wheels came off.

The millionaire players blew both games, but that one fan changed the momentum. :(

388Hustler 10-16-2003 08:31 AM

I agree with Too Old. They were up 3 games to 1. You can't blame that on one fan...

bad boyz 10-16-2003 08:38 AM

THE CUBS ARE TO BLAME NOT A FAN,THEY ARE YELLOW JUST LIKE THE RED SOX.TONIGHT YOU WILL
SEE THE RED SOX CRYING AWAY.I LIKE THE CUBS BUT

If you can't close out a series up 3 games to 1, going back to Wrigley, with your best pitchers then you deserve to go home. It's like Cubs fans expected people to feel sorry for them and just "let" them in the World Series.
Then, instead of blaming themselves for the most hillarious collapse in recent years, they blame their own die hard fan for their choke. Classy, real classy. The Cubs are losers. Teams have been showing them how to play baseball for almost a century now.

How does the moto go? "Wait till next year" ah yes, thats it. :D :D

rocknrace 10-16-2003 11:18 AM

:woohoo: Go Marlins!!

MIAMIBOYZ 10-16-2003 01:29 PM

THEY HAD ALL THE SHIRTS, HATS TICKETS
TO THE WORLD SERIES AND THEY CHOKED

FOR ONE GAME WHEN THEY HAD ONE GAME
TO WIN OUT OF THREE.GO MARLINS!!!!!

For all you Red Sox fans. Maybe this will end the "Curse of the Bambino"

Pretty ominous for yankee fans...

In the 1986 movie Back to the Future 2 , there was a scene where the

Christopher LLoyd character is looking through the sports almanac and
he

happens to "look Back" at the 2003 World Series. He tells Michael J.
Fox

that the Boston Red Sox won the 2003 series by beating the Florida
team.

What is even more amazing was that when the movie was made Florida
didn't

even have a baseball team.

Budman 10-16-2003 04:11 PM

Damn, you must have one heckuva memory! I guess I'll have to rent the movie again just to watch that one scene!

As I recall, it was something like 2115 in the movie, and they showed the Miami team beating another National League team. I can't remember which other NL team it was.

Lord, I had forgotten that scene. Too funny, let's see what tonight brings..

As far as the one fan ruining the Cubbies chances, boy thats about the mose lame excuse I have ever heard. Poor guy, just wanted a souvenier much like any of us would have, and now he is being crucified.. What, cabin fever is kicking in early up there this year?? :D :D :D
