Troutly are you bling? The difference btwn the EDTV Runco and the HDTV is amazing and IMPROSIBLE to miss. Both with Processorw and both with the same input. However the good EDTV's are probably better then the bad HDTV sets. I would rather look at the older Runco EDTV display with the Vivix processor on it then most of the new HDTV displays that are out there. As far as the rated life of a plasma being that long really we are in area were we do not know. They also ussually rate a lot of this with pixel drop out. The warrantee is often times with number of pixels of drop out per pannel. Let me tell ya when a pixel drops IT SUCKS!!!! Drives a video guy like me ape chit. Now with a lot of plasmas when you are watching them with HDTV they will all look very good. The ones that start to stand out are the ones that still look good with the standard def. inputs on such as DVD and Sat.

has anyone tried a sony or comparable with the new dlp technology?
Also, I heard that by 2006 all tv signals will be HD and you would be wasting your money if you did not buy an HD television today...has anyone else heard this.
