37 Outerlimits 525s= 95 Mph ?

I was at the fort lauderdale show looking at a 37 outerlimits. And the sign said it ran 95 mph with 2x 525s at 8500 pounds. Does that sound a little fast . If it does great. But I drove a 99 with 2x 500s and it ran 82-83 mph

wildthing357 11-02-2003 05:21 PM

It does sound a little on the high side. Did you have a chance to get any pic's.

Velocity Tom 11-02-2003 05:33 PM

Ya thats what I thought also. Must have been on the trailer with the gps. on

Cash Bar 11-02-2003 06:53 PM

Also, it may have been a 37' GTX? Not the Stiletto or whatever they call the regular 37'.

Just a thought.

Greg

dreamboater 11-02-2003 06:56 PM

The new epoxy 37 will probably run close to that. I know a 37 quadstep weighs between 9500-10,000.

Velocity Tom 11-02-2003 07:07 PM

This boat was 8500 and it was not a gtx.

BACK 4 MORE 11-02-2003 07:11 PM

Wow that is fast, even if it just tickles 90 with that power.
I know its lightweight and multi stepped but how the hell are all these new boats goin so fast?
Aggressive X dim. and 4-5 blade lab props?
Even a bunch of other new boats show rockin speeds!?
I'm amazed...It might be time to dump the old slug for a lower powered EFI trun key everyday new one.

dreamboater 11-02-2003 07:36 PM

Velocity Tom, I was not saying you were wrong about the weight. The weight I listed was for a 2002 37 OL. I know they saved alot of weight going to epoxy

Treadwellmotorsports 11-02-2003 07:46 PM

i am sure it was the qaud step. it is much faster then the single step. the new gtx does 98.

Treadwellmotorsports 11-02-2003 07:47 PM

a 37 qaud step with eikert 675 does a little under 110 with speed sixe's

The 37 that was at the lauderdale show was an epoxy single step. It weighed 8395 lbs before we put fuel in it.
I tested it on a 68 degree day with 100 gal. of fuel and three people. The gps read 94 mph at 5200 rpm and was spinning a herring 5 blade prop with a high x dimension. The rpms could have been a little higher so we ordered a new set of props that are an inch smaller and I am confident that if we are able to spin 5400 rpm the boat will run 96 mph. As always I am confident about the boats performance that I would offer a money back guarantee to back up our claims. I myself was very impressed with the boats performance and loved the way it ran. I tested the boat for over 2 hours I was having so much fun. For anybody who is after legitimate 90 plus mph performance with a large cabin with a shower and stock merc motors I would highly recommend this package.

Thats pretty impressive. Post some pic's.

Mike,
You make an awesome product---and you back it up 100%--That earns you some serious respect!

32fever 11-03-2003 03:10 PM

So what does something like that run? I know see $360k numbers for 37's, but those have bigger power.

What's a 37 with 525's go for?

I know, if you have to ask......but I still want to know. I'll be ready in a few years, and I'll probably be looking at 2003/2004 used 37's:D

outer42 11-03-2003 03:37 PM

call the factory or jerry at trenton marine in nj or chris in conn, and national out in ohio. Scott

HebertNecessity 11-03-2003 07:50 PM

Is this boat staggered engines or F2 config?

Steve 1 11-03-2003 08:43 PM

Nice Job Mike.

h2owarrior 11-03-2003 09:28 PM

A money back guarantee.............Those can be very tough to administer.....It is a very nice touch and actually the only one I have ever even seen when associated with speeds in an offshore boat. But still very difficult to administer....Lots of variables:D

Jassman 11-03-2003 09:29 PM

Great job Mike. The light lay up and high x are prob. good for 4-6 mph, even at 90 mph that is phenominal, always a step ahead, keep up the good work, your passion shows through.:D

Or I could just piss against the wind:D:D:D

I've called and emailed them previously. To no avail. I'd NEVER buy a boat from them with that kind of service level.

I emailed Trenton too (just to ask a price), never heard back.

I have talked to Paul Fiore when we were looking at a 98 last fall. He was helpful.

I was close to buying last fall. I may not buy today, but it's so stupid for dealers like National to treat potential customers like they're insignificant by never responding and then expect them to come back in a few years when they are red-ta-go. No effin way.

Like many or most, I'll be moving up someday, and while we offshore boaters may not be that smart, we "do gotdst memories so's not to furgit".

Oh well, maybe someone will just post a price. Hint hint.

Mark

I still would like to see it for my self. I not saying its not posible but you know how people tend to stretch there speeds a little .

LapseofReason 11-04-2003 06:28 PM

The best Boat out there. I can't wait to get mine. Is this boat staggered or side by side?

B-Stubb 11-04-2003 06:33 PM

YEA I KNOW HOW PEOPLE ARE LETS SEE FOOT OUT OF MOUTH NOW /YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BUY LUNCH

Velocity Tom 11-04-2003 08:03 PM

Lapse of reason Cool name wish I thought of it ! Are you waiting on a 2004 ?

105mph_38_2003 11-05-2003 12:29 AM

I know that a 2003 single step w/575's was $349k, no trailer. So figure if the epoxy hull is $40k more then you are knocking at $400k:eek:

The brochure boat with KE 675's and #6's was $450k...I am going to talk with Todd Shank tomorrow if I can find the time. I have morning till night meetings and have to buy 5 trucks by Friday and have themloaded and onthe road bySunday night.

Hey Joker, I am getting a deal on some Peterbuilt 397's so if you are in need let me know and I will call you.

Tonight at dinner I was thinking about what kind of boat I can buy for this money:p

enticer 11-05-2003 05:58 AM

WHEN ANYTHING IS FOR SALE........it never runs up to the advertised speed. HONEST
I have rode in them and even purchased them and they still don't do what they said it does. Or they will tell you it had 10 gal of gas and 88 lb driver with flat water at 5 AM with wind up it's ass

LapseofReason 11-05-2003 05:50 PM

The name Lapse of Reason just seemed to fit when I took a step back and looked at what I just spent 200K on. It will fit even better on a 400k boat. I wish I could aford a new epoxy lay up but I will have to go used, I should be able to find one I like before next season.

Velocity Tom 11-05-2003 05:54 PM

Good luck! Im thinking of going to a skater.

Who would've thought a 42 gtx would go 149.7 with 1400 sterlings. When Bob Russell showed up with "Can you here me now" at our fun run, I was told it would go 150. Well 149.7 is pretty damn close. Rock-it would go 140 with a cabin and corian counter tops. OL is a class act and they don't have to push up the numbers. Their product speaks for itself.

Lotta cash for a 525/Bravo boat...What would you pay for a boat like this?

29scarab 11-28-2003 03:36 PM
