I was out in 6' water once. I thought it was fun, she was terrified, the dock kid thought I was nuts. I couldn't imagine 17' waves!

Break out the JET-SKI'S !! :) :)

Lake Erie is the same this morning with 6-8' surge and coming over the break wall at no less than 15-18'. The Niagara River is up 3' with 3-4' waves, and it's snowing on top of that! Haven't seen this at the Marina in years.

Thats the part that is so commonly overlooked, and quite possibly the most dangerous.

Guess there are a couple of people missing from Winnebago. That's a inland lake just north of me. It's a pretty good size, but is very shallow. I've never seen it, but it's supposed to be very rough.

Where are the biggest waves? Which lake/ocean? I have heard that the Columbia River bar is bad. Any pictures of rough water? post them.

Damn and I just got the motor all loose ready to come out on the Cig.

Maybe I'll get the 18 Donzi and do some surfing:eek:

I was watching a show on surfing a while back where these guys went to Tahiti To surf the (worlds largest waves) 75-80 feet. They said If you wiped out you are dead because the wave pulls you down so fast you can't swim back up before the next wave, also that the water is so aerated that you don't float. It was a really cool show, has anyone else seen it?
