hmmm . . . .my vote would be 57 chev . . .   been workin on mine for several years now. it is the scratch built from the ground up.
full tube frame all stainless control arm chromed plated rear housing wilwood brakes T's interior polished T-400 510 CI bowtie with WAAY to much to list. all Street-n-performance accesories an serpentine ton of other crap i cant remember. should be drive'n it in . . . ohhh . . . . .nother 5 years or so. |
its actually much further than that pic but thats the only one i have on my PC
oh . . an value wise the 57 is much higher than the 50. small rear window 57 are the best   |
wow!
chopped top, reverse door full of every hot-rod deatil cool! i cant + my mechanics cant do this much stuff.but we will chop top and install f-body front end.perhaps 350 cu in,m21 etc.. |
'57 is very valuable, the '50 is not nearly as desirable. Go with the '57.
|
cool . . post pics of it if you can. be careful choping that top. it was the hardest one i'v done yet. i can take some better detailed pics if you need them. are parts hard to get over there?

definetly go with the 57 if you can. looks like it could use to be lowered about a foot or so. cant tell which rear window it has. the small rear glass is cooler.

glassdave: its not easy to get parts but we do it somehow.
i would be pleased if you can send detailed pics of your car thnx |
yes, thats a small rear window. that is easier to chop than the large one ( those wrap around the sides of cab). i get some more current pics to post next week. looks like you will have a fun project. i have this truck and a 71 firebird.
an good idea to go with different color than pink :p :p :D :D. nice photoshop'n |
i coulndt find the owner of 57 chevy today.probably on monday ..
but here is the last minute option; there is a ford f 100 1956? how about this 57 chevy or 56 f100? |

Real hot rods don't have fenders! :D :D :D
That pink one is a 55/56. 57's have different grill and hood bumps. I prefer the unchopped version of that truck but like the chopped F100. They look really cool with the hood sectioned (pie cut). Have you done a top chop before? It's tough to do right if you have never done one before. I have a bunch of articles to help you out if you'd like them. My 32 has fairly straight posts so not too bad. The 34 is much harder because more curves. The trucks will be the same. You'll have to add material to the roof. It's easier to find another junker cab that you can rob a roof section from for the material. |
baja ; this is also amazing project!!!!
but i cant do this kind of stuff here in istanbul,we cant register this kind of cars legally.there is offcourse some tricks to get papers but it s not very good idea cause car will be only one and will receive some attention. is yours steel or fiber car? can you post some more pics pls thnx |
hey!!!!! . . . you cut my head off!!!! . . . .:D :D :p :p

I'll post more pic later. Will you be able to register the 57? How much is gas over there? You it be better to build the truck over here and ship it back there as a completed truck? |
we cant register kit cars.
trick is we can use some other cars paper which is illegal. but its possible to import old cars. it has to be 30 years old or older.for collection purposes only. but after they register somehow?!?.i dont know the exact procedure but i know it takes long time a gallon gas is app $6 usd. we use liter to measure liquids. aliter is $1.50 usd 57 has plates already .dont have to do something special with the papers |
it would be much better to build the truck there but my goal is not to have show winner truck, just to spend good time.
:) new boat and truck will be ok to finish this winter .. ;) |
My 32 is registered as a 1932 Ford. "Kit Car" is a dirty word to real hot rodders and I don't do "plastic" (fiberglass) cars! :D :D :D
Where did you find the trucks you're looking for? There are hundreds of classic chevy trucks and F1 / F100 Fords for sale in CA. Some good spots to look are the Trader Pubs and Recycler: http://www.traderonline.com/ http://recycler.com/ And if you can travel here and bring cash you can get some killer deals at the Pomona Hot Rod swap meet, especially this time of year. http://www.pomonaswapmeet.com/ Long Beach swap is another good one. http://toppingevents.com/ Plus, it is always good to see what you are getting before having something shipped overseas. If you'd like me to check something out for you let me know. -Al |
