Baja's heading up the ladder
I don't quite know if the ink is dry yet but, there might be a new Offshore bad boy comin out of Baja.
If it's true I might have found my 42's replacement. Should hang with Fountain, Donzi, and maybe Outerlimits. Anyone else hear some news? ;) |
Hmmm I will believe it when I see it....
|
Well spit out what you heard!!!!!!!!!!!!

it wouldnt supprise me either way;) especially after seeing the new 30 Outlaw in action:cool: and I am not talking about the very first orange and blue one.
I am not a big fan of Baja and most of my friends that work there know that. I will say that a lot of time went into the 30 and it is an impressive boat. The layout, overall ride, and speed are incredible. |
Could it finally be something coming from the Baja and Skater colaboration a few years ago?
Should be cool to see. |

Originally posted by daven After 7 years with BAJA we can truly state that they are an entry level boat. The best boat they have ever created was the 36 OUTLAW. The 30 OUTLAW does not have the ride or the handling that the 36 does, as far as layout if the ride and speed are not there why go for it, a pontoon will do the same thing. And the dumb post of the day award goes to............ :o |

bajalion, :o I forgot to mention that I was also VERY impressed with the quality of the ride and the speed of your boat:cool:
My first post was concerning new models only;) |
daven, my 28 Cigarette will not go near as fast, or ride near as smooth as its 35ft, big brother and I never expect it to becasue of the SIZE difference.
Longer hull = smoother ride Longer hull = generally a bigger engine compartment to fit bigger motors to make bigger boat go faster. Any Questions? As for the 36 being a the best hull that Baja has ever built, I know a lot of people that have worked there, built, and driven theese boats for years, and I think that they will all tell you that the 36 IS NOT the best boat they ever built;) |
Go ahead tell them the "best baja" ever built. Everyone at Baja I talked to agreed.....

I like the 40 Outlaw!;)
This is the bottom for the new Baja 399 in a lightweight layup with Baja's own deck design. Should be interesting since only a dozen or so will be made. |
240 sport 88 I beat the piss out of mine, it came with a 454 330 , then in 93 502 390hp , 95 502 585 hp ,97 502 596 hp, 2000 509647hp for a15yr old boat that still runs with a little duck tape here and there:o I think there fine boat:) O this winter I am replacingthe tape with glass:D

daven,
Since you've enlightened us, can you recommend me an "entry level" pontoon to buy ? It has 2 requirements: 1. Allow me to have the same amount of fun as my friends, with their "premium" pontoons do. 2. Provide good performance and dependability that I'm accustom to. Oh, one last thing, It's got to ride and handle like something that's 5 foot longer and 2000 #'s heavier than it is. Now back to the topic of discussion. I thought the Skater/Baja thing was dead more than a year ago. Is it being ressurrected  jt |

If you're going to brand Baja an "entry level boat" then what does that say about you, since Baja took the line away and gave it to another dealer!!!!!!!!!!! Geez.........quite a turn around, after the call to M and the offer of free winterization on our Baja, now you show another side. I wonder how this will affect your Sonic sales, since some of your potential buyers are current or former Baja owners!!!!!!!!!!!! Can anyone say "open mouth insert foot and rest of body"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Bajachic and 00 Outlaw I'm with you guys. I had them recently replace the coupler on my Baja, because they had done work for me before on a previous Baja. Even though they are not the current Baja dealer for the area. As a matter of fact I towed close to 125 miles to let them do the work. I'm not sure that will happen again.
"daven" be careful who and what you bash. You never know who was thinking about a Sonic. |
Entry level....now thats an oxymoron on a performance boat website if Ive ever heard one. The avaerage boat on this site probably cost more new than the avaerage house in this country.
|
To my understanding, Baja Marine has very little tolerance for dealers with a reputation for sh!tty customer service. And that franchises HAVE been pulled from dealers for that very reason.
|
Baja builds a great boat for the dollar. I know a lot of people that are very loyal to Baja as we are to our Mfg. of our boats.
Hey beleive it or not my 26 Donzi did not have the handling or ride that my 33 Donzi has, and with just a little difference in price!! |
Hey! Where did daven go?

Hey, I got a 88 240 sport with the 454 mag 330 horse. Yeah I know its not a cig or fountain or pantera or one of these more highly crafted boats. But it is affordable, I run the snot out of it and I have a blast doin so. Would I love a better boat, yeah, do I love mine, you bet.

Daven
Welcome to OSO..... (More sarcasm for the mentally challenged) |
What a ding dong, and is he a dealer? i HEARD THE 32 WAS ONE OF THE BEST BOATS BUILT BY BAJA it may not be the best boat made but they sure make me and my freinds and family happy. I'm about to buy my 5th Baja probably an older 32 caliber/outlaw if I could get what I want with money as no object, would it be a baja? no probably an outerlimits or nortech, but for the majority money is an issue and obviously Baja offers a lot of bang for the buck or I would not have made a PROFIT on every Baja I've owned, I have been overall pleased with each one, and will buy another, this is the last one sold in July to a member in Indiana

BACK4MORE
man i wouldnt think twice about trading your fountain off. that is the baddest one ive seen in a long time. its sweeet. maybe when you do ill be ready to unload my 35 and try to buy your 42.
also the 32 outlaw in my own oppinion is a swweet ride ive thought about looking at some 94,95 models with 4bolster setups and big motors . but cant seem to shake the fountain feeling. |
Daven,
With all due respect I think you should delete your post. I 'm not sure if you realize it or not but LIKE I have explained to you before there is enough problems in gaining people's trust in the Marine industry this is not helping . I sure hope Dock does not see this and its already to late for some of our other members. I am a Sonic owner that needs a reliable Sonic Dealer with a good rep. David |

This is Great! Wait just a minute.....................O.K. I went a grabbed another beer. Continue... Daven, if I have calculated this correctly it's your turn to post. waiting......waiting.......O.k. How about....can you hear me now?........how about now?
|
Well it's not taking long to put 2 and 2 together.
So DaveN is the same guy that Doc Holiday told a very nice story on OSO and was shocked that he lost the dealership for "no apparent reason" After a comment as per the above its obvious. Daven, I've made a lot of expensive boats look silly with my entry level pontoon boat. Bring up your choice of $70k boats and come play with me in 5' waves. Sorry Doc and vagrant but this guy will probably loose his Sonic dealership too. |

I just hope daven understands that he cannot bash and insult without someone taking a stand.... I hope this post will help other dealers (of any brand) to see that customer service is the key to satisfaction!......his previous post is clearly a "what not to do". |
