1992 Fountain 27 fever a good choice?
I'm looking at buying either a 27 fountain fever or a 24s fountain I really like the size of the 27. I was told that the 27 fever tends to let water in the back when slowing. Does it let spray in when rough also? Is it a heavy boat compared to others? I,ll be using it more on smaller lakes or the Mississippi. Will this boat produce 65mph with the stock 502? I do have a whipple supercharger off of my old boat But I'm nervous about putting it on without correct info and jetting since I stuck that motor. I like the speed of the 24s but thats about it. Both are the same price. Any info would be appreciated as you can tell I dont know alot about fountains.

The 24 is a rare boat, they are nice and quick....but they are small as well. Personally, I'd go for the 27 or 29. Both are great boats. No doubt you'll see 65 w/ a 502...or at least I know of several running that plus. Sounds like EWB might have an answer for you.

I owned a '93 27 Fountain for a short period of time 502EFI it ran close to 65 not quite -the ride was horrible in the rough - seen as few 24CS fountains - very small sit down boat with no cabin. Depending on where you boat I would look at other brands in that size range. Baja 24-25 outlaw is a better bang for your buck in my opinion. (much softer landings in the rough)

A friend of mine a one with a carbed 502 (1990 maybe ?) and it would run 67 on GPS. It was a nice looking boat but did have a pretty rough ride.

Craig Kittle's-n-Bits:
The EWB 29' will ride real nice with twins. It will sit low in the water but will look cool.
