Okay, the next 3 pics are from the first New Orleans Halter 200.

these are some great pics keep them comming....

satisfaction69 11-28-2003 02:19 PM

the ole Satisfaction #4 boat was a 41' Wooden Cougar driven/throttled by I think Bob Kaiser and Errol Lanier. Built to be better in the rough against Fayva shoes and Toleman(sp) Group in late 80' or early 81'. They also had the 38' Scarab to run in open class.

Hey T2x was the Villian boat the old Renegade from 81' as well in post #94 next to Mich light with Betty Cook in it?

Later Sat69

I have consulted with The World's #1 fan, DarrenUS1, and he agrees that the Satisfaction Cat was owned and driven by Paul Clauser , throttled by Errol Lanier. After Al and Bill raced it (in only one race, I believe) it was sold to a relative of Al's, Warren Cervani and renamed "Stilletto".

The Villain boat owned by Jeff Marshall, was later sold to Eddie Trotta and became Rampage. Later Joey Ippolito bought it.

T2x....amazed as usual by Big "D's" knowledge

Joey Ipp never owned the Cigarette to my knowledge.

It was sold by Eddie to a Chicago buyer and I believe later purchased by Craig Barrie and became Cigarette Hawk during early years that Craig was at Cigarette. (Not to be confused with Jacoby Cigarette Hawk which was the old Ajac Hawk)

Joey raced the boat in Pt Pleasant before his college days and Eddie raced the cat that race. I think that Howard and Rocky teamed up and won in Flap Jack, Eddie second and Joey third with the vee bottom.

Hey T.X.2 ,

Who drove the swap shop Bertram?

Stan

Fast Shafts 11-28-2003 10:20 PM

I believe "Swap Shop"was owned and driven by Preston Henn.

Waterboy1 11-28-2003 10:45 PM

Bob,
As usual you were right, "Swap Shop" was owned and driven by Preston Henn....the boat ,as you know, was originally called "Streaker" # 9 .Those Bertrams were so cool!

Popeyes 11-29-2003 07:15 AM

They were cool 92 mph full of fuel and around 95 light. Vincentive was one also. Boy could they Chine walk.

Stan

Waterboy1 11-29-2003 10:25 AM

I remember "Vincentive" #26 ; very sharp black 38 ft Bertram campaigned by Vince Fasano and the legendary Sammy James in the early eighties. You guys competed against that boat in the original "Popeyes" #37, a 37.5ft Cigarette right??

GeoGraphics INC 11-29-2003 03:13 PM

Hey Stan was'nt that Mike Saye with bill in Post 20? and have you heard anything of brother Mark?

GeoGraphics INC 11-29-2003 03:32 PM

Popeyes 11-30-2003 08:52 AM

???????? WHAT BOAT IS THIS????? looks stangely familiar. Haven't heard from Mike or Mark for years. I bet Denny Hejja would know. H just came to N.O. and bought the original Pan American Championship Winner the 30 ft Flight cat That Bill Sirois rigged. The boat was the original, not the original race. I had to qualify that or I WOULD be corrected.
