drives now... :(

my engine is ready ,received all parts and will assemble it next week.new exhausts are ok. boat is being built and will be delivered in mid-february.....

now its time for drives (engine will be around 800-900hp)

-have bravos, planning to use them ,will order extension box soon. but instead of that would it be better if i cancel xtension box and sell my bravo drive and get a ssmV drive from states?

-never had serious problem with bravos last year ,do you think i should try my change or no way?!?

-not planning to buy bravoshop, imco (already have gears ) cause they are expensive for the same amount i get a rebuild ssmV drive.mercruiser is always better then aftermarket in my opinion.

actually arneson would be very nice if i can find rebuild unit .

anyway most important desicion here is to go with bravos or upgrade... any ideas pls?

yeah i'd get the ssm drive for ath much power OR an ASD

I think marc (MBAM) had a single lime green ssm5 and transom assemblie for sale. As i recall teh price was pretty good and he can hook uyou up withat trick tranny.

We all pretty much agree. A Bravo will really suffer with over 800hp. it does not hit you until you think about it and realize, wait a minute, that's like putting an SC900 Merc in front of a Bravo. Mercury is not selling this as a package which probably means that it will not last more than a couple of hours. Get a Speedmaster instead but if your configuration allows you to go for an Arneson without major changes to your boat, invest in it. Reliability and performance will be improved. If you have not done so already, check out the thread with the title "Arnesons on V bottoms". It's quite informative concerning the after-market mounting of Arnesons, including single engine applications. Good luck with your project...

hahahahahah!!!!

timu really doesn't care if his boat isn;t currently able to run his gear. He calls his glass guys and makes the boat fit the running gear....

he has the worlds only twin big block canopied (center pod) 28 skater.

wow, that's going to be quite something when finished. how fast would that be? a skater 28 with twin 900s and arnesons? in any case, i suggest he makes some kind of call to the glass shop because otherwise his boat will also be the "world's best bravo eater"...

ok i will try to sell my drives here and will get a stronger one.probably ssm V cause its easy to find rebuild-used.i dont think i can find arneson but i will wait and see..

-no not twins. this boat will have single engine .28 cat with single 800-900 hp

thnx for advices
