the 28 definetly has a nice ride. went out in key west last year in one and on the ohio a few times. wonder if that could be made SVL eligable with an addition of a full canopy. does APBA consider it a V hull?
|
Chuck, How about my ride!????;) :D
See you in the spring!:p |
CB Cig,
Just do it, Chris and his crew are wonderful. You won't regret it... Getreal, How about Dave and you in the bat boat, and me and another girl in the supercat? I'm not blond but one outa 2 ain't bad, as long as their both girls! |
Gee,
How in the hell did I miss this thread??? First of all, Chris Reindl runs a great program! It is a great way to get started and recognized in racing! The Ocke Design is a great boat and highly recognized Internationally. Amy, I am sorry you are so bitter, but you should look and see where the Reindl program has gone.......... Batboats is how I got my start as well as many others who have moved on and stayed with racing. Bobby Fisher, John Harlan, Eric, are just a few to mention. I have been sponsored, and entered, or raced race with some of our best World Class racers, such as Sarah Donohue, Paul Nemschoff, Gary Decucies, Eric Tredwell, Roy Schader, (Nigel Hook, but we never got to run!) Just to mention a few. Amy, you never raced, and the boats are very safe , so you should leave your negative comments out. Many other great teams have raced them as well, Team Virgin, Joey Gratton, etc. GEBB, You have a long way to go before I will jump in a Cat with you! Roy is my Cat partner! I give you credit though, keep up the good work. I will be back racing a Bat next season with a all female team. 4 top gals! As well as a SVL. Roy, If you get that Big Cat togehter, I am in, for I am the one who got you in a Bat! LOL! :D :p ;) As far as Poker Runs they are a blast, and will keep up with the Big Guys in the rough!:D Roger, Hope to see ya on the left coast this year!! BG XO |
I've always wanted to ride in one but none are in my area...Are they very expensive? How fast are they typically?
|
What area are you in??
They go almost every where....As Far as speed, with the Volvo Penta, they are running 65-75 mph. Chris has a new engine package for next year, should go around 90 mph. Contact Chris @ www.reindlpowerboats.com BG XO |
It is a great program and the guys put on a good show. You get plenty of time to get comfortable in the boat. It definatly takes some time to get used to being in a canapy and there are side view mirrors. When I took one out for a ride in some REAL rough stuff out on Cape Cod the boats ran great and fast.
As far as the employeed issue I do not buy it but then again dosn't EVERY employee talk chit about their boss? I know all mine used to and I thought I was a very generous person to a fault so.......I FIRED THEM ALL :D:D Jon |

Originally posted by Audiofn I believe that the price I was told for a new one was 70 grand. He said for in the high 20's you could get a used one perhaps. I hope to buy one at some time in the near future. Jon |
Batgirl,
If you re-read the thread, you will see posts 20, 21, and 22 were a joke between glassdave and getreal and blonds in general. I never mentioned anything about you personally or getting in a cat with you. So stop thinking everything is about you just because you are blond. Just wanted to nicely point that out to you.... Have a good holiday! |

I met Chris R. in Ft. Lauderdale and sponsored his team in Orange Beach, he got my full support when I found out that one of his crew members had never been to the beach in his life! Giving someone an opportunity of a life-time can be a very simple thing sometimes. Yeh, Chris could use a Dale Carnegie course, some people think I do also. The One Designs, looked awesome on Speed Channel yesterday and they deserve respect.

i have one for sale...2001 6.2L it's like 49k

Is that one on boat trader really bottom painted, or is that just a lot of scum? If it's bottom paint, that's got to be a one of a kind. :D

BatGirl-
You should more carefully read exactly what I posted. There is absolutely no bitterness on my part whatsoever. I DID race as I said in a 28ft. in 2000 so I do know exactly what I am talking about. My screenname on this forum used to be APBA BATGIRL until I left racing so I am quite familiar with the program. I also said that I hope things that had to do with safety had changed because there were issues in the past. As to my personal issues with Chris Reindl, they will never be written on this board. This is not an appropriate forum for that and is has to do with things from a long history and I have long and buried it. I do remember when you first began racing in a batboat and you didn't have the best experiences. Times have changed and as I said earlier I DON'T want to get into any pissing contest with anyone. Everyone has a right to their own opinions. I only stated what I knew from first hand experience to be fact and fact only. I left my personal opinions to myself. |
They look like a fun boat to own...I am between Houston TX and Cali for the time being. Hoping to relocate to So Cal when I find the time to stay more than 3 or 4 days at a time.
|
I have helped Chris several times and have enjoyed every minute of it. You work your butt off, but thats half of the fun. It has also allowed me to work on boats that one day i hope to own.
|
yes same boat...
|
Amy,
I am sorry you had a bad experence navigating for Chris back in 2000. Since then the program has grown and the boats are very safe or I don't think all these people would be racing them. Chris is coming out with a new 28 for 2004, that is even better. The sport only improves by learning from our mistakes. As far as Chris employees goes, They do work their butts off! They keep on coming back though, so he can't be too bad! Custom Rigger101, Who are you ? Did we work at the Aqua Toy Store at the same time? I know its not Tague or Alfredo. Is that you Mike C? Miss you if so. BG XO |
Ok, ok... How did I miss this thread?? First off Amy is my ex girlfriend, not ex employee. She is entitled to her own opinion as is eveyone else. She was there when we bought the Armada, and as she said she even raced in it with me one time when Jeff had to throttle for someone else. She worked very hard for the team and saw all of the same issues I saw with Armada and the program.
That is exactly why we invested millions into the project. We were tired of not finishing races and of getting stuck in the middle of the ocean when we decided to to take the boat to the Bahamas. Those boats were built by Armada, a company that no longer exists. A lot of people from the board have come to help us at the races. It is a lot of hard work, and some come just for the party. The entire reason we are there is to make sure the racer reaches the water and his boat and team are 100% prepared. It does not just happen by itself. And all of us do it because we love it and the racers. I have another business that pays my bills like everyone else in boat racing. I am fortunate that it is in a position where it runs itself and allows me to spend 60 hrs a week on the racing program. For next year we will have all new engines, pushing the boats over 85 mph. We will keep a boat for the P5 class as well as getting racers used to being in a closed canopy system and for the racing schools we give around the US. We have brought over 50 new racers to offshore racing over the last few years alone. Without the volounteers and my employees like Rob, Jesse, Nick, Jeff, Terrah, Steve, Matt, Ray, Connie, Jean, etc... NONE of that would have been possible. They have all made it their passion to see that everyone that races with us is Safe, and has the time of their lives. If I ever deny someone the chance to race, it is because I am looking out for the safety of my other racers on the course. Anyone interested in giving the gift of racing, we are offering a discount before the end of the year. Chris Reindl [email protected] (513) 706-3199 |
Chris-
Very well stated. Remember I did actually work for you back when it was you, me, and Keri. LOL. Thank you for also keeping this professional and not the pissing contest some people are trying to make this. |
No problem Amy, we both agreed the boats were not well built by Armada. Come check out the boats at the Cincinnati Offshore Grand Prix on Father's Day. We can get you a bunch of VIP passes if you need them.
Too Old, So many times we pull into the gas station with our $500,000 beautiful MTI Supercat and a couple of batboats. EVERYONE asks about the batboats and wants their picture taken with them. Even here in Cincy where we have had them all around town for the last 3 years. You have to plan an extra hour for a trip to Fla. just to talk about the boats when you stop, it is kinda funny. Chris Reindl |
aint that the truth :D . . i have had batboats behind my truck on numerous ocasions and i have to tell ya its almost as fun as actually driving them. :D :D every time i pulled into a gas station or convience store i had to spend about 15 minuets or so talking to people about the boats. they really draw a crowd   its all part of the fun in the OneDesign program.
hey chris i just ordered up some supplies for the dash. what color ya want :) |
Chris:
Man that hot chick I saw you with this summer was SMOKING! BH |

I can say the same thing about towing the boats every time we stopped when we took one to down whether it was in Florida or Kentucky everyone wanted to know where I was going and what it was!
|
Mr. Offshore,
Thank you for the kind words. I wish I had a guy like you selling them for us as well, we could justify building another 2 sets of molds! Happy Holidays - check out our newest Holiday offer in the Racers Milling Area. Chris |
