I remember seeing that boat the first time at Ft. Apache. Impressive and way over priced at the time. Nice ride though.

One boat made that I know of, It was very pricey and bounced around for a long time.

I think Stinson told me it had a 7 foot 6 inch beam as well.

it was put together with alot of top dollar hoses, cables, fitings.. solid lines.. through holes, strainers everything.. have no idea how much it cost to do the engine compartment but Yachavick(spelling?) is the one that tooled the boat.. but if yu would want to more about the boat email me your number.. i think harold knows alot more about history of the boat than i do..

this i a good way to get my post count up :D

and sgrady i think you are right with that.. it had to cost some tall dollar to rig that boat... and it's still in pretty good shape..

26scarab 12-05-2003 09:51 AM

What about "Renegade" ? I saw that boat at Smoke on the water a couple of years ago.
I thought it was an awesome looking boat. Nice subtle graphics, #6's and I believe it ran 100. I know we where going 70 and he passed us like we were standing still.:)

I received the pictures, and that is a beautiful boat. The step in the hull interests me, I have never seen one on a 41 Apache before. How does it affect the boats performance?
Thanks, Ed

sgrady 12-05-2003 04:56 PM

Boat picked up 5 MPH , but has much better cruising ability. Give me a call and I can run you through the process.

That Apache of yours is first class! The step in the hull really adds to the performance.
Ed

can you still turn it as hard and fast as an original non step

BLee 12-08-2003 03:57 PM

Question:

Lucy's Apache runs 88-90+ approx. (To some members faster)

The stepped 41 Apache with more hp runs the same speed.

Why doesn't the stepped 41 with more hp outperform the nonstepped?

Yes the step does not effect as far as I can tell up to this point. Anyone who has driven the TG single step could verify or ask Stinson. He has spun out most of them :D :D

Just kidding sean !

Pleasure Cockpit, Full Cabin vs. Race Set up and Layup and of course full stagger vs. side by side.

I do not think there is another side by side that is too much quicker, My .02 of course. If you look under the COPS thread there is a picture of it running at close to open, step at that point is not an issue.

Thanks

That would be why for sure. I didn't realize that your boat had the side by side and pleasure config. Sweet boat.
