kitten, the story is kinda funny i guess , yesterday at work there was a bat (flying kind) and it was on the ground looking hurt , so the medic in me took over and i took the bat and put it in a tree ,and when the sun came out the bat stopped shaking and looked like it fell asleep . Well i called lisa at her work and explained how i saved this poor little bat from sure death . and she told me that her son derrick would really like to see it (bat) , so since im such a great guy , i told her okay . Well , i went to the tree and after all day the bat was still there ,so i took it and hung it from the visor of my truck and it still looked like it was sleeping ! So i started driving home and everything was fine until i hit the rumble strips at the toll booth , the bat woke up after sleeping all day and with renewed life and energy started doing laps around the cab of my truck , do you know how hard it is to drive while screaming and swatting in shear terror and panic ? thankfully there was nobody in the lanes to the right or i would have taken them out for sure !!! Moral of the story is dont trust that a bat will sleep long enough to make it home , put it in a box ... I will never do anything that dumb again , (this week) see ya at the opba party ! mike

I took a bat for a ride in my truck once with no problems, of course he was stuck in the grill at the time.:)

At the OPBA xmas party, maybe we should all sing the old TV show Batman theme song to him.

We have a lot of bats, they eat alot of bugs and
mosquitoes. They will come out at dusk and feed
much like purple martins do up at the cottage in MD.

Ok, when I said my son would like to see it I didn't mean hang it from the visor in the truck or bring it home seriously. :) I was laughing so hard I could hardly breath when Mike called after the incident... Hee-Hee! Poor Bat... it's probably never done 70mph before without flyingon it's own! But what a nice guy for thinking of me. :) I didn't think he'd really try and bring it home! I guess next time I'll be more careful what I ask for. Although it was funny!
