Nothing against the Apache, but the OL is that fast, the steps, the AVS, and the design all are a part of the equation.

That is a 47. Frank sold his 42 several years ago. Unfortunately Mike doesn't build the engines. I think we all can agree that when you run 1400 HP motors, you can expect a few problems here & there.

Perhaps a stepped 42 OL owner with that kind of power ( or similar ) will chime in here and report a true speed. I personally think that a realistic speed is mid 90's in a stepped 42 OL with that power . . which is still probably faster than the white race Apache runs at its best, regardless.
These are only my opinions though
PS - I assume that the white race Apache has wet sump 6s', correct ?

I guess I would have to say "Old Resin" bucket since that is what I have. My boat is pusing 22years old and looks like it was born in the mid-90's!!!!!!!
And wouldn't hesitate to take it out in the ocean either. Plan on doing it next summer.
