What are you saying? The OL is a full cabin staggered boat, the Apache is not. You can not discount the hull efficiency. The numbers don't lie.

Nothing against the Apache, but the OL is that fast, the steps, the AVS, and the design all are a part of the equation.

Lucy,

That is a 47. Frank sold his 42 several years ago. Unfortunately Mike doesn't build the engines. I think we all can agree that when you run 1400 HP motors, you can expect a few problems here & there.

If you have never broken down, then you are my hero.

I think that you can.

Perhaps a stepped 42 OL owner with that kind of power ( or similar ) will chime in here and report a true speed. I personally think that a realistic speed is mid 90's in a stepped 42 OL with that power . . which is still probably faster than the white race Apache runs at its best, regardless.

These are only my opinions though

PS - I assume that the white race Apache has wet sump 6s', correct ?

I guess I would have to say "Old Resin" bucket since that is what I have. My boat is pusing 22years old and looks like it was born in the mid-90's!!!!!!!

And wouldn't hesitate to take it out in the ocean either. Plan on doing it next summer.
