You can try this, it works on anodized stuff to strip it off, I polish things all the time on my goped, paintball gun barrel and all

What you do is just spray the oven cleaner on and let it sit for a few minutes and it might eat threw the paint on there but it might not, if not the only other way that I know would work is sandblasting but I have never heard of bead blasting.

definately use aircraft paint remover, available at Napa, I have used it on aluminum, and steel for stripping, all kinds of paints including epoxys, and powdercoating. It will strip off paint and primer down to bare metal or alumium, you will have to polish the bare steel to your desired smoothnes before painting.;) Good Luck

BTW, there are half a dozzen different blasting medias available that wont pit the metal, or aluminum, but be prepared to pay out the nose to have it done. Try the aircraft stripper first;)

If you don't have a local plastic media blasting company, you can UPS them to Advanced Paint Stripping in Largo FL; call 727-581-9791

They strip cars, boat hulls, all types of metal, etc.

What would be the cost for soda blast or plastic media blasting? Its two 16 inch aluminum motorcycle wheels.

Polished aluminum is a ***** to keep nice. Send the wheels as is to Sportchrome or any good chrome shop and have them done up. Just my $.02 hving been there.
