Mass = energy, energy = brake Hp
All V8s swinging around @ 2,500 Rpm willl have torgue. Trans and all other thing swinging create alot of torgue.
Like I said in the other E-mails, V8s have power no matter the CI when it comes to haulling tonage.
I pulled 8,900 lbs behind me to Fl with a 305 CI. No problems at all. I could have pulled 10,000 with ease.
All three trucks with differant Ci all ended up in 2nd gear to climb the mountains in Tennesee. Do I need a Duramax to climb it in high gear at 70 Mph, no, that is just nutts.

If you can wait until Jan. Chevy is supposed to come out with a 1500 with a v6 diesel that will have a towing capacity of 10000 lbs. Myself I have a 2002 crew cab, 6" lift with 35's, K&N system with straight exhaust. I tow an AO 3100 with no problems.

Im new to making posts I like to read what everyone has to say. But I had to try and save this man from buying a gas truck. The 6.0 gas motor is a PIG both for towing and mileage and its snail slow. I owned that truck. It was an 02 loaded leather heated seats it had everyting but nuts. 80K miles ex cab w/ 4doors and a real nice system 4in lift anyway sold it for 7,000 and bought an F250 powerstroke. It will destroy that truck in everyway. And you can find them in great condition under 20K.
