hi fobes there was a 32' Hustler LUCKY STRIKE driven by
Lloyd Gootenberg, he took the checkered flag in offshore VI. |
What's up Lucy, seems that there were a few Lucky Strikes but I cannot tell what kind this one is, to me it looks like a 32' Excalibur? Have any new pics of your machine that you could post...by the way I think your 41' is one, if not the best looking one out there, I like the all white look. Would you happen to know anything about the 41' Flying Falcon...thanks: Matt

Know This Boat?
I know exactly which boat this is. It is a late 70s 30' Wellcraft Scarab. My friends Lindsey and Steve built it. They lived at the Jersey Shore. Lindsey was the fiberglass expert, and Steve was the Mercrusier expert (still is). He works for Mercury Marine. The name of the boat was Indigo. It was a production class race boat (P-72) that was raced in the late 70s and early 80s. Will post pictures of it as soon as I go through my old race pictures. We raced against it back then, Quick for a P class boat. We also had a 28' Cigarette we named Lucky Strike many years back. That is where we got our screen name.
