OT: Car audio advice
OK, this is gonna put me firmly in the "old married fart" club, but...
The dockrocker clan might be purchasing a new Ford Windstar minivan; we've been talking about buying a family cruiser for a while and I think I found a good deal on a leftover. In any case, it's got a rear seat entertainment system, but the source is VCR rather than a DVD - how hard would it be to get a DVD player put in there instead? Mrs dockrocker thanks you for your help :) |
"should" be very simple swap.

Famous last words, eh? :)

Its probably gonna depend on if the existing system is a "ford" only thing or if its an aftermarket thing. You will need to pull the VCR and see what type of connections it has in the back. Hopefully its got standard RCA plugs for the audio/video outputs. If not then you may need to find someone that makes an adapter harness to get things working properly.. :)

Should be no problem and if the connecters are different then wiring kits are available.

Cool, I think we may go ahead with this deal, if the numbers work out; then I can get a new boat-towin' truck in a year or so!
