I just came back from the Bahamas, trailered from Wisconsin to Pompano Bch Fl, splashed and had a great time in the Islands, cruised back with no problem.
I used a 1500 chevy 3 door 2 wheel drive.
Same trip three differant trucks, all got 5-7 MPH, Listing of Type = 3500 4*4 duelley, 2500HD 4*4, now the C1500 2 wheel.
All did the same thing to FL and back. same fuel MPH, hense, two wheel drive for a better ride overall. trailered weight W/Boat = 8,900 Lbs.
Never once did any of these three trucks get out of 3rd gear for the entire trip.
Cruise is out of the Question, man made throttle= foot power.
Two wheel drive is just fine. B3

2WD was a problem and....
.then I bought a truck and....

I must say that there have been more than a few times I was glad to have 4WD. But then again ,we have some pretty ****ty ramps up here. If your on a steep ramp during low tide with a sandy or slimy surface, it may get tricky.
