Anyone get divorced then back w/ your EX?

I'm just curious, I have heard horror stories of getting back and everything is ok for awhile then after a few months it goes to crap again. Does anyone have any happy endings with getting back together?

Up untill a few months ago I would have gone back, but my ex didn't want too. Now she says she has learned thet she made the biggest mistake of her life and can't get along with out me.

Just curious for opinions on this issue.

Thanks

She may also have gotten wise to the law and would like to come back and take you to divorce court again. I have had a few clients who got off easy in the first divorce only to be bled to death in the second one. Take her back and make her your slave but dont knock her up or put a ring on her finger!!!

Steve_H 12-10-2003 06:50 AM

when there are kids involved its always at least worth a try IMHO.

Well spoken my man.

I've never seen it work, but what do I know... I registered on 8/24/03.

You're kidding me...right? That's insane  The same personalities and chemistry will make itself clear after the novelty of doing the "impossible" wears off!

Do you remember the Humpty Dumpty rhyme?
Kinda like teambaja2001 broken glass theory..

CigDaze 12-10-2003 07:30 AM

I would avoid it. I don't think it's a very good idea. I've never seen it work out in the long run and in the end, two people have wasted their time instead of moving on.

You and only you can answer this Question. Good luck

Cuda, That is freakin Hilarious, and True!!!!

TF, I would be friends with her, maybe even seriously date, BUT, Think long and hard before signing up for a rematch!!!!!!

We are guys, and dont like talking about this stuff, but We really do know how you feel, and given the right circumstances, a lot of us would consider getting back together with our EX's, even though we may not admit it. Just be careful, and if you decide to do it, do things better second time around. If you two have fun together leave it at that, and time will tell if its worth it.

By the way, its 78 degrees and sunny in Fort Lauderdale this morning!!!!!!

I have new neighbors that just built a house next door to me. They are re-married after she caught him in the hot tub with their old neighbor's wife I think I may buy their house when it goes up for sale again....and it WILL go up for sale.

Dueclaws 12-10-2003 08:44 AM

My first wife did the same thing after her boyfriend of the moment dumped her. It was a God-send that we didn't get back together because a few years later I met my current wife (24 years now) who is not only beautiful, but my true "soul mate".

Although my ex and I are amicable now (not friends though), when I think about being with my her: I cringe!

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ANSWERS ON YOUR SITUATION,THEN YOU MUST FOCUS ON YOUR
FUTURE.KNOWONE HERE IS IN THE SAME BOAT,
AND KNOWONE HAS THE SAME EX.

SO GET YOUR THINKING CAP ON AND FIND TUNE
IT TO GET YOUR LIFE TOGETHER.AFTER 13 YEARS
I GOT SEPERATED FOLLOWED BY A DIVORCE.
NEVER HAD A REAL PROBLEM OR CONCERN.
HOWEVER,THE LOVE WAS NOT THERE ANYMORE
AND WE BOTH TOOK THE NEXT STEP.IT HAS BEEN
NOW TWO YEARS AND WE BOTH DONT CALL OR
SPEAK TO ONE ANOTHER.

WHEN YOU DISCONECT ONCE IN A RELATIONSHIP,
LEAVE IT AS ONCE AND GO TO THE NEXT ONE,YOU
WILL NEVER LOOK BACK UNLESS YOU WERE THE
ONE THAT NEVER TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE IT WORK
AND NOW IT`S TO LATE.TAKING NO FOR AN ANSWER
IS ONE BIG STEP,AND MANY PEOPLE DONT KNOW THAT
MEANING. JUST MY .02 CENTS:eureka:

I did it a few times with the mother of my 2 children out of guilty feelings for the kids. It felt good for a while and then each time it got worse in the end. Truth is though, nobody here can tell you what you should do, you know your situation and everybody has their own breaking point. You have to be comfortable with your decision. Good Luck.............

Thanks everyone for your input. I guess I'm just doing a little research, I have been dating this chick who is incredably hot and we have everything in common and are having a great time. I guess I just don't want to leave any stone unturned.

excursion 12-10-2003 10:25 AM

THATS GREAT TO HEAR! I THINK FOR THE MOST PART THAT IF IT DOESNT WORK THE FIRST TIME, WHY WOULD IT WORK THE SECOND. MOVE ON DOWN THE ROAD, THERE ARE TO MANY SINGLE GOOD WOMEN OUT THERE.

I WENT THRU IT 3 YEARS AGO AND WOULD HAVE BEEN A FOOL TO FALL BACK INTO HER TRAP.

I NOW HAVE A SWEET HEARTED, KIND WOMAN, AND DID I SAY SMOKIN HOTT !!!!!

MitchStellin 12-10-2003 10:41 AM

No way Jose, I have thought the same and the damage was done so there is no going back. I often thought of a quick hook up after a night of drinking but that is a bad idea also. Too many emotions and too many problems with this, the biggest one being that you were divorced for a reason and unless that has changed you will find the same reason right around the corner. Things will be great for a month or so and then you will meet the real miss right and have to ditch the ex again. Now that would be worth it...ditching her a second time.

Cord 12-10-2003 10:45 AM

So are you going to keep Gordo on the side then? :D

dyno 12-10-2003 11:01 AM

The EX want to come back a year after she left....its always greener on the other side you know.....I told her to jump off the pier!!

I got a glass of milk this morning and it was bad. I put the jug back in the fridge and I'm going to check it again tomorrow.

US1 Fountain 12-10-2003 04:03 PM

Everyone makes mistakes. Guess it depends on what the breakup reason was and if it is something that can be overcome. You'll have to find the answer for yourself, not on the internet. Good Luck

BTW, if she is the hotty on the engine hatch you posted awhile ago, then.......HELL YES! ;)

puder 12-10-2003 07:17 PM

Yah, Packin is the poster child for torture.:D Pantara28 said it: if you know you tried and it still failed you are free to go. If you did not try and there is a doubt in your mind you may need to look deeper. I dug deep and came up dry so it was the right thing to do. You on the other hand have to take some time, digest this stuff said here (it does help) and think. Time will tell and we all have plenty of time. Plus your TFLB and you are always posting pics of hot chicks.:D Wait till summer, I'll drive down and take your leftovers, not seconds though:D
