Thumbs up Sitting down

Sitting down takes a little getting used to. When I had the canopied Phantom, we changed the CG slightly and the comfort on impact was much better. My current Phantom pleasure boat is awesome - not many amenities, but I don't need them right now.

Go talk to Hollis - he'll take good care of you.

Not exactly true, I had a west coast custom, and the price was very fair. Far cheaper than some of the over priced east coast manufacturers. It also had more features and better fit and finish than the east coast counterparts. Many of the designs of the east coast boats are getting tired, time to update the helms, cockpits, ergonomics, practicality, etc.

Yea Will Smith is the " daddy" of design / speed! I used to frequent Sarasota often and go through his trash can at night. Hmmmmmmmm closed cell foam , kevlar , core cell. If you want to find out what materials your custom builder is using , go through his trash - haha - BH

Anyone looking at a Baja 272/275 or Powerquest 260, Velocity 260 owes themselves to check out an offering from Canada's largest boat builder..Campion.
The CAMPION CHASE 800 is a great "production" boat!!!
Balsa cored, kevlar reinforced, hull and deck joint bonded, engine mounts thru bolted, Great looks, very nice detailing, power bolsters, Windshield, great cockpit room, the best designed rear seat of any 26-28 footer I've been in, plenty of freeboard, great dash layout and the best fitting boat if you're 6' tall or taller.
All that plus it has a GREAT Bottom design. Campion calls it APEX, but having owned Velocity it sure looks like a splashed Velocity bottom. Both Poweboat and Hot Boat tested the boat running 71mph with a 390hp volvo dpx, so expect a couple of more with a 496HO merc. Best of all is the handling...like its on rails, no funny sliding slippery feeling. Its a GREAT family, ski, poker run boat for lakes and rivers...maybe an occasional offshore adventure. Anyhow, with the dollar transfer rate they are a GREAT Value.

Nice pics! and Great looking Donzi!
But I remember now when I looked at that boat the problem. Not much cockpit space, low freeboard and very cramped in the front seats..at least when you're 6'2" tall. The Chase 800 is a better cockpit, and has a more efficient hull.

I'm impressed that the Donzi was able to run down the Sonic in the rough water - I've only been in the Donzi on smooth water. Great looking boat.

As far as Campion Chase - I agree, nice boats, but even in upstate NY (right next to Canada) - Terrible resale, or even new sale for that matter. I believe there is still a brand new 1999=2000 28ish footer up on Oneida Lake for sale. Not many people in the U.S. knows what they are. But if it's something you really like the price may be right.
