502 manifolds

Does anyone know what manifolds are best to improve a 502 mpi? I am looking for improvement in hp and a weight savings. Also what hp can be expected?

Either Stainless Marine or Imco.

Good luck!

What about EMI or Gaffrig?

SO WHAT IS THE BEST PRICE/PERFORMANCE OPTION?

For some unknown reason, Teague swears by IMCO. But I really think CMI's are hard to beat.

Installed Staines Marine on mine today I'll let you know next week what happens. BTW the instalation was fairly painless.

I think a set of dragster zoomies would look kinda cool,,,

On twin setups, do you have to pull one of the motors? Or are the manifolds installed with bolts? My '94 had 2 studs per manifold, which would require removal of 1 of the motors. Don't know if same for my '99.

Also, Are the Stainless Marine manifolds the same as far as sparkplug access? My Merc/Gils were a pain.

Stainless Marine. Great price. Great warranty. I don't know why Teague likes Imco so much. They have the same gasket setup as stock Merc, which just asks for water leaks. CMI are great, but I'm not sure what happens when you put them on a stock 502. SM don't need any computer change. I thought CMI did. They are worth the price just to not worry about water leaks. CP Performance has them for about $1600 with standard risers.
I'm with you on the gasket issue. I don't know why IMCO doesn't get with the "dry-joint" program. Teague claims that their customers have seen significant performance gains ONLY with IMCO on relatively stock motors. I've heard too many good things about Stainless to believe that. I've also had good results with my Gil's.

I am running the imcos on my boat. I have only ran the boat a couple of times and the boat seems to run alot better.
