Do those fancy interiors hold up?
I've seen some incredible interiors coming from Outerlimits, Active Thunder, and others. DVD players, flat screen TVs and such. I would think one rough water ride and all that stuff would be junk. Does anyone have those things that hold together after a rough ride or are those boats just posers that are not going to be out when its rough.

Hey Vern, good to see you again. Been a while since you've been around.
I know several people with t.v's in their boats. They still work after many years of Lake Michigan offshore running.

I don't know about OL but I know from the inside how much thinking goes into making these things work at Hustler. Plasma screens for example, are shock-mounted and largely insulated from vibrations. Any other electrical or electronic item is never screwed directly to the fiberglass but mounted on a custom-made support which is then screwed in place with a layer of shock-absorbing material between that support and the fiberglass. A good example of this is the fresh water pump which will fall off very soon if it's not mounted in this manner and if it's buried somewhere below the liner, you're in trouble. So rest assured that these guys give adequate consideration to the question of reliability and all this stuff being able to hold together. And I'm sure other top manufacturers do the same... Having said that, if you order your boat with a flatscreen, DVD, PlayStation and that sort of stuff, you should be aware that you will not end up with a race boat. You order this kinda stuff with your boat because you want to make it more "civilized". Well then, use it in an appropriately "civilized" way. Nothing is unbreakable, especially when grossly mistreated. And treating a full-cabin, loaded boat as a race boat is exactly that...

I never had a problem with my TV or DVD not working. The microwave and fridge also worked all the time. We put 73 hours on Radio Active and used the generator about 10 of those hours, it was real handy in a few rainy poker runs.

If the electronics are mounted solidly they should be fine. If they can bounce that is were you get your problmes.

Waterfoul,
I've been around, just lurking. If you sell your boat, and need a ride let me know.
Super Temoli,
I guess that is really is the main point isn't it? What kind of boating you do.
