"Running" the Okeechobee Waterway coast to coast is one of the very best boating experiences I've had. Just off the lake on the west side is Roland Martin's Marina, in Clewiston. You have to go through a smaller lock to get to it. It's great. Have dinner at the Clewiston Inn and then go into the bar, complete with 360 degree Okeechobee mural and bathed in torquoise/aqua blue light. Unreal. If you have the chance to do it, don't pass it up.
