The ride of a 50ft Hustler?

I've been on several 50's and it's a great-handling boat. There are absolutely no problems with tracking or any other dynamic aspect of that hull. The boat is built right by a very skilled and stable crew which means that they learn along the way. They probably made over 15 boats of that model so far which means that by now, they've got their stuff together. I can also say this because I was on the last 50' they made. It was absolutely loaded with a genset, rev. A/C, 1000W stereo, DVD, flatscreens... and ran 83 mph with triple 500EFIs on XRs. I believe that boat is still available at National Marine. It had a very special cockpit and interior color schemes which makes it harder to sell but I really like it. Check it out and tell me what you think...

In terms of high-powered stuff, I think two 50's stand out: one was powered by triple 1100 Cobras and ran about 115 with gold-plated faucets and head and galley fittings... you get the idea, it was absolutely loaded beyond imagination. And there was one with triple 1300 Sterlings which should run well over 120. Last time I checked, it was at National. It's an all-white boat. Here's a cockpit photo of the last one they made...

finally, engine compartment. the quality of rigging is impeccable. i've seen boats rigged as well as this one but never better. the wiring is the best i've seen anywhere though. everything is labeled, neatly done and attached, insulated... the way it should always be done.

great pics super t. that interior is awsome. didnt they also build one with a pair of lamborghini v-12's in it. i seem to remeber it from a article in boating mag or somthing. the "gee wiz" factor on that boat was quite high, very cool . i will see if i can find a pic to post

Yes, I believe it was one of the first Hustler 50's made and it had triple V12 Lambos on Arnesons. They were around 650hp each and the boat was one of the first pleasure boats of this size to run 100 mph. I spoke to guys at Hustler who actually rigged that boat and they said that Lambos were great engines with a fantastic sound. What apparently let them down is the peripheral stuff like fuel pumps for example. The general feeling was that the basic engine was real good but that Lambo were badly let down by outside suppliers of some of those accessories...

I ran my Apache 41 w/1000SC's next to the Lambo boat at a poker-run on Lake Michigan in the early 90's: I couldn't keep up with it. Well over 100 mph, with an incredible sound.
