Who's planning on going to the NY show?
 

How big is it? Is it worth the trip? I know it is nothing like Miami but I have a dealer pressing me to make it and I want to know if I should go or not. IT would be a major hassle for me to make but is possible if worth the trouble:) :cool:

I have been there three years in a row and my honest opinion is that it sux!! If you are a fisherman or into cruisers it is ok...but for go fasts there is usually only Baja, Fountain, donzi, and one or two Outer Limits for show! I go only because I live only 15 minutes from the city, and I will probably be disapointed again. If you are going to visit a particular dealer who will be there it might be worth it because they usually do offer some good deals at the shows sometimes!! GOOD LUCK!!

I will be up in NJ visiting my parents and will go to the show one of the days.

Ive been going to the NY show almost thirty yrs. Past few yrs it totally sucked!! Not worth the admission and the cost of parking. I like to see fishing boats too, and they had a crappy display of them too. it used to be the top show, now its horrible.
Wait for the Atlantic city show. Way, Way better.:)

..I have to agree with my partner...AC is a much better show...

..also OPA will have a display/booth at the AC Show...c'mon down!

The only high perf. boats at the ny show are usually formula, fountain, donzi, baja and real sweet o.l.'s, but since we are boat shopping I figure the miami show would be better and I looked at their vendor list to and a lot of the boats were interested in, aren't listed,,, sunsation, sonic, P.Q., A.T.,, are they just not listed or are they NOT going to be there ??

chris232 i would recommend the n.j. show the first week of feb. alot more performance boats and sunsation is there . were going , but no miami show this year for us.

T.D. were up for it !!, still gonna hit the NY show,, tomorow is my last work day until the 5th so it will give us a day out..

Agree w/ everyone else. Been going to the NY show for as long as I can remember, and it's really gone downhill the last couple of years.
A.C. seems to be consistently getting better.
(Not to mention, I used to live 30 minutes from NYC - now I live 30 minutes from A.C.) :D

NYC show kinda sucks. Not much performacne stuff. Pain in the ass and expensive to get boats there. PLus (for dealers) its sucks cus nobody buys anything! ANd teh timign suck super bad this year. as i recall its will run through new years. SO i'm thinking new years days its gonna be empty.

I thought that is would'nt be worth the trip but I wanted to make sure...Ocean Performance invited me to come because they were told that I was between their epoxy boat and the GTX at NM. I prefer the GTX but the pricing is way off from where I want to be. The epoxy boat is priced right but I think I am leaning towards a sit down. I really did'nt want to go and am to busy to even consider getting away right now...Thanks for all the unput:)

Everyone basically covered it. I usually go, just because I work in NYC. With the timing, between Christamas and New Year's, it may not be do-able this year. If you're gonna head this way, wait till Feb and hit the AC show. That one kicks major ass. Pretty good brew pub in attached to the AC convention center too ;)

I agree with the others. I have been going every year. Last year I swore it would be the last time I waisted my time. Unless you are looking for an embroidered hat with a Marlin on it, or some other stupid item, don't bother going.

It's really not worth going , unless Dave P. puts together an OSO Lace outing after the boat show..........

formula,baja. Now it sucks,went last year,best
part was getting hammered in Hogs & Heffers
the rest of the day!

Boys, Boys Boys, I agree that performance boats at the show are few and far between. But you are still around BOATS IN DEC/JAN !! It cant be all that bad !! Although its not what it used to be, Its still not your Mall boat show with 4 runabouts and 2 canoes

Ill be there with Epeek and a few others the Sat after new year and spend a couple of quality hours looking at some nice cruisers and some fishing boats and even a hot rod or 2.....then itsoff to Hogs and Hiefers to be terrorized by those UGLY BARTENDERS
