Miami area boaters
 

How about a small OSO trip to Bimini on 1-4-04?? The plan so far is Madcow, tidbad and myself are going to take madcow's 42 sonic over.. I know there are plenty of OSO'ers down that way, who wants to race over? OSO Steve... gunna bust out the old gladiator? anyone ?

So far we really don't have a set plan other than going there on the 4th out of miami around noonish.?... none of us have ever taken a boat there... so we don't really know what the place to be and the not so good place to be is there....

How about waiting and doing this around or just after the Miami Boat Show. Lots more boaters in town, and I would be happy to ride and share costs.

I like Sydwayz's idea, maube we can get a whole lot of prople involved then, and we just take over that lit'l island...:D :D :D

1 of the main reasons for this time is we all live in toledo and his boat is going down to sonic..Then agin it may still be down there so maybe a second trip

Aggressor 25 once sent me an ALL inclusive link of everything you need to know about the crossing. I pinged him just now and asked him to send it again. I will post when I get it.

I think he just got the chip for his plotter for that area.. have you ever been there? is that the island to go to? what's the scoop?

Packinair; That's not the place to go unless your with or following someone who knows that water real well. Don't try it on your own the first time. (I'd bet if ol' Ben was around, he could get you there blind folded) Anyway, I'm SURE Lucy knows, she's been there. Good luck, and have a great holiday.

Yes it's cool. In January, maybe not such a cool run over tho. Tends to be rough and cold, not a run for the faint of heart..

Got a friend down there who is familiar with the trip who is probably going to go with us. I agree that I don't want to try it alone

10-12 foot seas in the Gulfstream yesterday. By January they should be 15-20. Have fun and be careful.

I looked out at the ocean this weekend and you could SEE the swells about two miles out!
Like Steve said, at least 10-12'.

We'll be around that weekend and would love to do some boating around Miami... Could go to Elliot Key, or on up to Palm Beach... I know this area pretty well.

I have a friend towing his 26' Sonic down from PA as well....

We're also having a New Years Day fun run over on Sarasota... It's a bit of a tow (if you have a trailer for that big bizatch)... But party NY Eve, then boating at noon.

I'm in if you're going to Elliott Key / Boca Chica... Nice place for a BBQ and some booze and real nice bay area (in the Winter you will get 2-3 foot waves but close together not swells). I would not take my 25 footer to Bimini in the winter.

I'm up for Elliot Key or Boca Chica!

My plan is to arrive early Friday, around 6:00 am and leave late Sunday evening (after 7:00 pm)
