Performance of early 80's 26' Wellcraft

What can I expect from This rig ? '81 26 Wellcraft with factory Arneson #6 ,Velvet drive 1.5 '03 350 Vortec slightly beefed to about 350 honest H.P. I've stripped out everything and anything with extra weight. Had mtr.hatch ,floor inserts cuddy hatch etc etc all redone in lite composit. I'm hoping the diet will end up ready to go at 5000lbs There was a thread on the best 25' to 28' deep V ,how does this rig fit in there ?? If it works the way I HOPE I'm going to build a lite weight 406/427 and maybe turbo's Turbo's will help with the onslaught of NOISE REGS. I like the silent but deadly route anyway so I wont miss the NOISE .But each to there own vices. When I bought this rig it had closed cooling so I can up grade {re-place} all that and with an aluminum block/heads etc and turbos ,end up with RAT power but save 200 to 300lbs right off the ass end . I had the hull cleaned up,the strakes edge sharpened, the trailing edge slight hook removed, and the edge sharpened. A lot of V's have the trim tabs mounted level instead of an angle .Whats the thinking on that . Thanks in advance for thoughts on this andrewmasonsr

I see your near the Ocean so , you would want closed cooling if you were to run in the salt, unless you pulled it out daily and flushed the engine well
