Default What to do in N. FL???

Hey guys need some help here. I'm heading down to FL on Christmas and need some ideas on what to do. I'm thinking of moving to FL in the next yeat or so and would like to get a feel for the area. Lived in miami last summer and its not quite my style.

Here's the schedule

St. Augustine 12/26-27
Tampa 12/28-29
Sarasota 12/30
Atlanta: New Year's!!!

Interested in what the locals find to be the best nightlife, sights, etc. I'd also like to hitch a ride if anyone'll be out on the water.

Thanks everyone

Be sure to check out Ybor City when you are in Tampa if you like the nightlife.

Do I like nightlife????!!!!! That is 90% the reason for the roadtrip! Graduated college/joined the real world last spring and have not had a real vacation in quite awhile. Been looking into engineering jobs down there but its hard to beat the motorcity!

Any particular bars or clubs in Ybor? And is that short for something?

There are a bunch of clubs on Seventh Ave in Ybor. It's kind of like a smaller Bourbon Street or Duval Street.

Ybor is an old Cuban area of Tampa. It was a ghost town for years, and now it has been revitalized. Channelside is also a good spot to go to. There is a trolley that runs from Channelside to Ybor.

Thanks guys I will have to check the place out! What to do during the day? I heard of a powerboat tour that takes you around Tampa Bay - I'm sure it'll be touristy but I'd like to see the area as I plan to move somewhere south in the next year or two.

Any decent charters for offshore fishing???
