last bonus I received was when I worked for a two resturaunt local fast food joint back in High School
Part time job @ 3.5 an hour recieved 400$ gift
I guess we do get a $25 gift certificate from current employer for a local grocery store.
Sad part is everyone uses that to buy food for our christmass pot lucks so basically the company gets the 25 bucks back when we feed everyone.
I did get a raise today, well at least was told about it.
But that does not count because it is 9 months past due.

For the first time since I've been in business, I have three employees. One started last week, one in October, and the other in July. The one I hired in October is a great employee. The one I hired in July is alright but has mentioned for the last two months what he got for bonuses at other jobs (starting to sound like a broken record).

I have only got a bonus twice in my life. But my company could not survive without them. I don't want to empty the bank but I want them to know they are appreciated.

How much bonus should I give?

I didn't get one but gave every single one of my employees a week's salary as a bonus. After hearing the stories here, I must be a decent boss.

I handed out $27,300 in Christmas bonuses, threw a $55/plate party and had a drawing for the gifts that averaged $110 apiece. Wives all got stuff costing around $40, gave gift certificates at the supermarket, and did a lot of handshaking and hugging.

My Christmas Bonus was a $340,000 operating loss for the corporate year. Merry Christmas to me.

What kind of business is it and what do they do for a living. My wife is a Compnesation specialist and she said that anyone that starts with them after October does not get a bonus. Average bonus on a machine shop floor would range any place from 1 grand to 2 grand depending on performance. So I would guess if you want to give them something then 500, 300, and maybe 100 respectivly. If they are "profesionals" then it is a totally different ball game.

I am self employeed and it was a slow end of the year capped off with a guy who to the best of what I can see is going to screw me for his final bill.
