O/T- Can your tow truck do this?
|
Yeah that was an awesome video. Those (old) Powerstrokes are 444 cubic inches (the newer ones are 1.3 liters smaller) and run a big Garret turbo with an intercooler. (Prior to 1999 they weren't intercooled)With a chip and 4" exhaust you can get 27# boost and well over 700 lbs/ft and around 400 hp. Add propane on top of that (propane is a catalyst for diesel and has a similar effect NOS on a gas engine) for another 100 hp or so and the result is what you see in the video.
I would have loved to see the look on the guy in the RX7s face when that big Crew Cab 4x4 went powering past him. lol |
I just showed that video to everyone in the office! AWESOME - take that you Chevy guy's! BH

Word is thats a Cummins in the truck

The 411 on that truck is :
It has a Cummins, yes a Cummins twin turbo diesel engine making close to 900 HP and something like 1200 ft lbs of torque. So is it a Dodge or a Ford ?? It is also running 75 lbs of boost !!!!  Either way it is impressive to move that much weight that fast. |
Troutly...That's what your new 6.0 will run like. Can you imagine towing the Formula like that? :)
