Well TooOld the race is on now!!!!

I am azz deep into my boat now. Dove into it to pull the tank so that I could put new foam in around the tank as the old stuff was wet. As I dove into it I found that the stringers are all wet at the ends and pulled away from the bulk heads :( Guess what I will be doing this weekend...... Yup pulling up the entire floor (have to cut out most of it) and cutting out the stringer :( I hope that I can get wood on Friday or Saturday to keep things going forward :( Man just when ya think you can see the light at the end of the tunnel......... :( Oh well I will have the newest Formula 302 in existence now!!!! Should do well with the survey when I am done with it!!!!!   Ragtop this is all your fault!!!!!! :D:D

Fred, there is only one way that you can lose that crown, right? Yea, the boat actually has to be used ON the water!

GLH 12-31-2003 08:03 PM

Talk about a snails challenge! :D:D:D

PS: Fred thanks for the sample.

cuda 12-31-2003 08:22 PM

Unfair contest. Jon has a year head start over Fred's Sutphen.

GLH 12-31-2003 08:43 PM

What's a year?
Tick of the clock for these guys, they're on geological tectonic plate movement time, you need thousands of years to discern any significant change. :D

Waite tell you see me going at my boat with a chain saw and sawzall :D:D If the place that I get the special wood from is open on Friday then I am going to go to town BIG TIME. I actually have fantasies of having one stringer and maybe a bulk head in. Got to get the resin however.

sorry to hear abotu the moisture issue on your hull.
As for being the trailer queen prize. Well mine got wet and 10 ran for hours this summer! Once the upholstery and finish work is done i can call her complete BUT she is no longer a trailer queen cus i can run her in present condition! :D

Sorry Jon but I think Too Old is on a mission with this one!!;)

Cord 01-01-2004 08:19 AM

The question we all have to ask is...how does a boat become water logged sitting on the trailer? Next problem will be those doggone air blisters! :D

traviss 01-01-2004 08:28 AM

Ohh yeah I did stringers and a floor in my last boat  A few weeks job turned into a 3 month job just for a ski boat. But when you put it back together you know that it is better then what it was new. Throw a little extra fiberglass and epoxy on her and she'll be solid as a rock :D :D
