Do a little searching here on OSO. Lots of history. You my want to talk with Cashbrain, I think he MAY have some info on it.

Here's what I can tell you (from the seller)...
"Speedmaster 3a drives, United Racing engines (you would have to call TNT rigging they did the boat in case you want to know who made the cam for whatever reason) 3 man standup bolster, gafrig gauges, crashbox shifter. K tabs (30 inches long) current speed 80 to 90. 8500lbs three axle race trailer by torino. Everything is fine. Orignally raced by cigarette, then al copeland(Popeyes), then a drug dealer in florida, then me. you can look at the boat at 8898 Florida in Baton rouge."

The boat is incredibly ugly (bubble-deck and paint) and has a little "history". The pictures hide the deck pretty well so it's hard to see. If I lived in the area, I'd check it out, but I'm sure as hell not going to fly down there to see it. To many people have passed it up. It's been on ebay about 500 times. Even when it meets the reserve, the buyer always backs out (???) and is considered a deadbeat buyer. Sounds to me like the boat is worth more in parts. Proceed with caution!!!:eureka:

This boat was the original Popeyes V Bottom. I believe.

It raced in the SBI Worlds in New Orleans last year.

Ugly ass hull.

Reed Jensen 01-02-2004 09:20 PM

Hey! It comes with a "race trailer"..... whatever that is.
Does that mean it's faster on land than on water? :D

adrenaln 01-02-2004 09:40 PM

re race trailer

race trailer for this boat means you can leave it attached to the boat, and it will still plane ! LOL seems the bubbles and water distribution help the boat lift over 50mph , kind of acts like a stepped hull, if you remove the tires you can get another 8mph , just make sure the rear tie down straps are very tight LMAO

NOT

Could this be the same boat?

LS JR.

SS930 01-03-2004 01:39 PM

That picture might be the same boat, but I believe the one in your picture is more likely the one that sank off the coast of Argentina. Maybe someone else knows.

jb 01-03-2004 01:50 PM

Strip Poker 388 01-03-2004 01:55 PM

It was in the SBI New Orleans race last year. I have seen the boat for last 2 years at the TickFaw 200 and Royal Purple poker run in LA.The boat sounds pretty strong. He is from the New Orleans area.

I know y'all wouldn't want people making fun of your boats.Everybody has there on taste.it might have been a starter boat for him?

puder 01-04-2004 01:25 AM

not making fun of the boat itself jus that fact its on ebay every other week for the last 2 years.....

open87 01-04-2004 08:22 AM

it has also been advertised locally, imho, it just isn't a good looking boat, or at least something to work with. that deck and stern section is not pretty. i am sure for a real low,low price, skillsaw, epoxy, a few sheets of corecell ,and a few hundred man hrs it could be nice.
