I know for a fact that these guys ARE NOT insured. I got all the information I could from the guy, Name address, Driver's lic #, DOB.

I am assuming that my insurance company will take care of my damages and then go after this guy? Am I being Naive?

That's the way it should work, but it really depends on how difficult your insurer wants to make it for you.

The cut was proper on the tree.
If you notice the rope - they were trying to pull it back toward the camera.
they just misjudged the weight of the tree being toward the truck.

I suspect you could collect from the neighbor's homeowners policy. It should cover tree falls even if some moron did it.

you got that right , Thats why even though I could have brought down a 60 foot maple I had out front, I paid a insured company to do it, first off the risk is just too high, and for 300 bucks its worth it

Brian,
Around here it's around $800/per tree. I see many neighbors risk it themselves or hire a Bobby/Joe to do it for $300 (I'm sure without insurance)

ya the price here depends on the wood too because this guy charges more for rotted and or pine trees.
I think he splits it up and sells it , he did give me a cord of it unsplit, this tree was 3 feet at the base so I bet it yielded a bit of wood, pretty neat this was a husband and wife team.
