As some of you know, I just had a baby girl recently. Melissa's water broke at 1am while we were sleeping. To make a long story short, I panicked. Drove a little fast on the way to the hospital and got pulled over 1 mile from our destination. The officer took his time getting out of his cruiser, so against her wishes I jumped out of the car with hands up and walked back to his car to explain the situation. He immediately escorted us the rest of the way to the hospital and congratulated us when we arrived.
Always respect the police, talk politely, and always keep you hands in view and you should not have any problems.

Speed up, slow down. Do this three times.
Obviously reach under the passenger seat.
Slam on the brakes, get out and run like hell.
Hopefully, he can't run. If he can, ummm-ouch...

i had a cop tailgate me @65 mph coming back from the lake a couple of years ago for at least 10 minutes.
he wasnt just close but REAL close. all the while he is weaving side to side. i asked a guy i work with about it that used to be a cop and he said cops will do this to get you to weave also therefore a reason to stop you.
my question is , if i had slammed on my brakes and he rear ended me who would be at fault? not that i would ever do that.........

If I had a nickle for every time I was pulled over.... man I have some stories.
First good one:
Dad had set up his local cop buddy in small town to look for me. Well, when he found me, he was instructed to teach me a little lesson. This guy lifted me out of the top of my car, (Monte Carlo with T-Tops), by my shirt, and placed me beside my car rather abruptly. I received a nice lecture for 55 in a 35.
Another:
Pulled over on Ft. Myer, US Army Post, and was turned into a training excercise, after dodging a couple puddles, (OK, it was weaving a bit), at about 1AM. They easily could have pulled me over with one cop, but the ENTIRE watch including the commander came out, and did the whole shin dig. Put the window down, throw out the keys, open the car door with your right hand from the outside, get out slowly, and face down on the pavement. I had just washed my Trans Am, and was trying to keep the splatters off, and look where it got me. Even ran the damn K-9 through the car.
Another:
Arrested... 140 in a 45, same Trans Am as above. I was racing an IROC-Z in Arlington, VA. After the IROC backed off, they pulled him over,(found that out later; he was drunk too), but I kept going, as I did not know the police were back there. Washington DC, Arlington County, VA, and US Military Police were all at the scene. Charged with Evading Law Enforcement, Reckless Endangerment, and Reckless Driving. I was actually released on my own recognasiance with MP escort back to my dorm on base. It was not a good meeting with my First Seargeant the next morning. Not to mention going to court in Arlington VA, with my commander, a Major, as a character witness, and the judge told him not to speak, as I was the one who committed the offense. All that while trying to impress Ronnie Joe LaRose, a 5'11" brunette from Syracuse, New York. Did not get laid either!
Last one for now:
Suzuki crotch-rocket, pulling a big wheelie, cresting top of a small hill, on a 4 lane road; I meet a cop. I quickly ducked in behind a pickup truck, so as not to get radared. The cop locks up as traffic allows, and whips a 180 to come get me. Mean time, I have zipped around the pickup, and ducked into a gas station, and proceeding to get gas. Cop was NOT happy on that on either, as he lost sight of me twice, which there is some stipulation that if that happens, they cannot cite you.
You know what, I even got a speeding ticket on my jet-ski once too!!
