Flush mouting Steps

I am looking for flush steps to make it easier to get up on the bow of the boat. Anyone have any ideas?

you mean like from the cockpit, right?

Yes I am trying to make it easier to get from the cockpit up onto the bow. The Formula has a deep cockpit and when you are trying to get up on the bow it is a pain. I am looking for something that I can cut into the forward bulkhead and allows me to step into it and up.

Try some RV places. I have seen steps that are like a bucket with a flat side in it . You just cut a hole in the wall and slide it in .

Boot that sounds like what I was thinking. Some cigs that I have seen have something like that but I think they are built into the mold?

Just built it out of some paneling and gel it in. Maybe go to a boat salvage yard and chop some cockpit steps out of it. Many of the newer boats have them.

Jon look in the Technical Q & A section for a post called "Wanted foot rest fabrication ideas " Posted by Dave M. I posted some pics of what I did for my 302 for the driver and passenger side maybe that will help. Rick G.

Rick how long was I asking for those pictures???? :D:D

Adrenaln no problem man. Actually after you said that you got me to thinkin about maybe putting a removable ladder there. But then that is just one more thing to have to stow for me....

Jon,
Check out these step pads by Eddie Marine.

The Extra Large ones are ones we had custom fab'd for the replacement of the plastic steps in almost all Sonics. Too big for what you are looking for; but EMI makes them well.

Maybe you can make your own indent into the forward bulkhead, and use these to finish them off for a trick look.
