Now this is what I'm talking about.... Great Service!!

Got this message today from Ron at Livorsi concerning the speedo in my boat that sprung a serious leak last year..... I mentioned it in the Livorsi thread a few days back NEVER expecting to get a response. I just lived without it.... but when it worked right, it was about 1/2 mph off what the GPS said at 60 mph. Now that's close!!!

Hi Waterfoul

This is Ron from livorsi marine. The gauge you are talking about is probably ours and we can refurbish it to like new condition for a minimal amount of money. You mentioned it being in storage and i can tell you that if any liquid filled gauge is left in the freezing environment it's seal will be compromised causing it to leak, much like a beer can explodes when left in the cold. Give me a call and well take care of it, no problem.

Thanks Ron LMI

I also was unaware that the liquid gauges would freeze, at what temp does glycerin freeze??

Did you write him and he responded???

I figured they were like liquid filled compass' as well and wouldnt be harmed by cold weather.

Dude, check the time between my first post today, and my last! Nearly 4 hours. And now I'm going to bed!!!

I want to make it right, so I'll do it when I'm not so busy tomorrow. I'm sure he'll understand.

ok Foul sit down and take a breather :D

Glycerin most likely did not freeze, but cold air temps could have changed pressure inside gauge. Maybe this caused the seals to let go?
