Full Throttle 525

I'm looking into a tow vehicle for my 28 Pantera. Was thinking about a Hummer H2. I'm not interested in a pickup as it will be my everyday vehicle. So many choices. Please post you thoughts.

For that size boat you have a ton of choices.
H2 works go drive one I suggest.
I love our Excursion they are not as flashy as the H2 but they pull more weight. As for the flash I'm not exaclly looking for that with a truck.
Big ol Suburban 3/4 ton would work plenty also.

Forget the H2 for towing! My dad has one it is very under powered, it can hardly get out of it's own way with out a load!
I towed his 18' center console fishing boat home from the lake and was not impressed. I'd hate to see it with a real load behind it!

If you use a H2 you will be glad to get your boat in the water so you can drive something that gets good mileage.
I would get a Excursion with a PSD if I was you.
You pay more for the PSD but it's so worth it, plus with gas prices high you will like getting 18 mpg or more depending what you do to it .

Get one before they are gone. I have had 58 vehicles and half of them trucks & suv's and in my opinion it pulls the best and just a beffy large veheicle. I love looking down and its just plain BIG.
But the only way to buy it is in the POWERSTROKE!! I dont think that they should even offer it in a gas version.

2500 Avalanche. I love mine. Perfect for towing the boat, and everyday driving and parking is very comfortable. A little to be desired on gas mileage, but thats the only trade off.

Thanks all, really appreciate your feedback. We'll be towing the boat once a year from Florida to Connecticut and back again. Then maybe for general maintenance, but that's it.

I've pulled a 271 Formula Fastech with both a Ford Expedition with the 5.4 and a Nissan Armada and both do a great job. Its a single engine boat with a dry weight of approx 6K. I would suspect any full size, light duty truck with the largest engine option and the factory trailer towing package will do fine.

If that is all the towing you are going to do I would find a 95-97 Ford F250 crew cab PSD 4x2 (the old body style Ford 4x4's ride hard unless you do stuff to them) You should be able to find a nice one around 10K if you look.
Ford's by far had the best diesel's back in the mid 90's.

Then buy a nice car.
