hey . . . is it just me? . . . or does that pic #12 look like it has a beak on it  :D :D :p
that'll get him go'n :D :D :D disclaimer: i am at heart a pantera fan and in no way mean any disrespect. nor do i mean any malicious coments regarding the use and function of said beaks :D |
Originally posted by Too Old Pantera's been building the 24 for a long time. What year did Superboat start. I think it may be the other way around. I'm not sure on this, but I don't think either was the first to use this hull. |
i thought they were both excaliber splashes

hey
Easy on the Black beauty its mine, and if you move Quick its not to bad in the sun. As for the 24 hull the first was p&d , the only diff between superboat and pantera are the bottom strakes, superboats run the full length of the hull. The black 28 now has a 860hp motor and spins a 31pitch at 6000 rpm with a full tank
|
I used to own a 24' Superboat and I think it was a 7' beam. A buddy had a Pantera and his boat seemed bigger.
I always thought there was a 24' Excaliber then the P&D was splashed |

I think the Superboats are also a few pounds lighter. For these reasons, I believe the Superboat 24 runs 1-2mph faster than Pantera's 24 with all things being equal. |

I think the 24 Superboat has been around since 1974. Pantera and Superboat both have 7' beams. The Superboat is about 400lbs. lighter than the Pantera. The 1997 and newer Superboats do have a v-shaped pad as SS930 said. It has a single step too.
Here is a picture of my bottom. |

hey
The black is not that bad once you learn how to move around on it , and its good for breakfast, you can cook eggs on it. I was just down at the factory with it and jo and pepe loved what i did with it 540, 420 mega blower, idles at 650, with hardly any blower surge, made 800ft lbs of torque at 4000rpm. Its got a nice stereo in it as well. I added a sun pad between the bolsters and the engine hatch. Bischoff did the motor,Merlin540 & his son and myself did the rigging.I also had a 24 with a 700sc in it, it ran 90mph. That was a fun boat, it would run 4to 5s in lake erie all day, Pantera also has a small pad. Will post som pics soon,Jo if you read this please post a couple of pics of the 28 when we ran in biscayne bay

hey
Whats up Fred. The only other bad thing about having a black interior is the hotter it gets women take off more and more clothes, NOT

So that means LOTS of time down at the joint selling your "flame Broiled" burgers with the painted on lines. So tell me too old how do you flame broil in a microwave :D:D I am chilling watching football because I know that I have this one in the bag. :D:D

Which is better, the older boats without pad, or newer "97" with step and pad? The pad will in theory add to the top speed of the boat (same is true of the step), but at the cost of ride quality in the bigger water. So to answer your question, it all depends what you're looking for in the boat... both are awesome boats! Like I said before newer 24 Superboats are slightly faster than an equally equipped 24 Pantera. I'd give the nod to the Pantera in the rough. I'm talking very small differences here... Can't go wrong with either.;) |
