dodge hd or superduty 250

Actually General Motors sells more trucks than Ford:
Choice of Chevy or GMC.
I drive a 2500HD that's "Juiced" and love it.
In reality I hope that the big three sell a billion of 'em.
My job depends on it being that the steel mill I work
in supplies sheet to Gm,Ford, and Chrysler.

They're all good, especially compared to options 5-10 yrs ago.
I personally have a lot of seat time towing (race nationwide rockcrawling) with an 01 and 03 Cummins/Dodge, 5 and 6 speeds- mildly hopped up (I'm an Edge distributor- other stuff too).
for long haul towing, it's just tough to beat the Cummins /stick setup. If you're towing an hour or two it makes little difference.
One thing not talked about yet- go to or ask around at the local auto auctions. Look at the prevalence of 100k mile ford and GM diesels and what they are selling for. Now compare the lack of Cummins Dodges (people are still running them) and how much more money they are selling them for.
This may not matter to some- but it does say something. Even I was surprised how much my 01 brought when traded to the dealer for my 03 Laramie 3500- which i bought for well below invoice.
To each their own, if it gets you safely to your favorite body of water, reliably, it's a good truck.
PS- Buck183 made the truck look so good- usually has a nice cap on it too, thanks!

Interesting, very nice thread. I'm in the same pre-purchase decision making right now. I've had gm's forever and most of my buddies still do. I'm leaning towards the Ford, but mine will be used probably an '02.

I actually sold a pair of these not too long ago with the shape of the state of Oklahoma on it. Customer was VERY insistent on having them.

That is until we get our new shop built in about 8 months.
