Nice looking ride. (I'm still thinking about WASABE as a playmate):D :D
|
I keep the boat in Port Washington, right next to Louies. I also use the ramp at Bar Beach. If you're in Bayside, I'm right in your neck of the woods. I go over to Little Neck Bay once in a while, and take a lot of rides into Manhattan. Are you familiar with Whitestone Lumber up by the Cross Island?
|
Nice boat! Looks clean.
|
Wouldnt mind being out on it now while enjoying a whole turkey sub from subway:D :D :D

I had one of those ..... my first boat ..... white with black and red on sides with a 350 Mag. !!!
COOL !!!!!!! JM |
My first boat was a long time ago...Before these were even made. I want something a little larger, probably a 24, maybe a 26 if I can squeeze it in! I've had this one going on 6 years. It's time for a little bigger, and a LOT FASTER!:D I hope to start looking by next year. Any recommendations? (Gotta' have a cuddy). I was thinking Fountain, or Formula. I know Fountain made a 24 at one time.
|
Liberater...I kept my boat in LaMottas in Manhasset Bay for two seasons...great place...then last season I gave the south shore a try. I use to go out to the sand hole in Loyds Neck all the time. I am undecided if I should stay on the south shore or go back to the north..
|
Personally, I like the north shore. I've been boating up there all my life, with the occasional trip to the south shore , and Montauk. We kept the family boat over at LaMotta's as well. Back then (70's) it was only known as the Manhasset Bay Marina. There was no restaurant, only a small snack bar. I knew Guy, but I haven't seen him in so many years he wouldn't even know who I am.
I used to love looking at all the Go - Fast's there. He was a Fountain dealer, and always had a couple in the parking lot. Oh to be a teenager again! :) |
Nice boat! I had an '86 21' Liberator with the 350 Mag, and really enjoyed it. Great cabin for its size.
You would really like a Formula- our boat after the Lib was a 242LS with twin SBC's. We lost quite a bit of storage space aft compared to the Lib, but really enjoyed the boat. They can be found with single BBC's as well- get a later one with a Bravo drive and bolsters. Much bigger than a 24 Fountain and better in the rough too.:) Jim |
Nice boat, I have an '86 241 Liberator with a pair of 350's.
Mine is the dark blue and grey. I have a friend that is trying to sell his 241 with a single 460 that is the same colours as yours. He bought a 311 Formula last season. |

Luv those Liberators:D
I had a 211 for 7 years. Mine was black and grey with mustard yellow stripes that I changed to teal , whatta difference. Was a 460 King Cobra but the last few years with a 540 Ford:eek: . What a beast...faaaast and handled the power very well;). No GPS at the time but could easily bury the 80mph speedo:D |
Blimpie anyone??
|
I was very surprised at how well it responded to the new power. I love how it rides. Handles the water extremely well, and loves to get air! :D
How are the Scarabs in the 24 - 26 foot range? |
searching ...

I had a friend with a Four Winds Liberator in the late 80's, it ran well in big water. Its nice to see another Long Islander.... Im from the South Shore, and try and boat mostly in the ocean, but I've been in the sound a bunch and launched at Hempstead Harbor, or at that ramp by LaMottas, Is it Manorhaven?? That water can be Nasty!!!
|
Sorry.. Winns.
