Book on Thunderboat Row history

I am over halfway through my book, "Tales of Thunderboat Row". I worked on the street for 17 years for some of the bigger players, Donzi, Magnum, Cougar and Cigarette. While I have lots of stories that involved me, I am certain that there must be some great stories that happened while I wasn't there. If you have a good story that should be included, email it to me at "[email protected]" or "[email protected]". In the alternative, call me at 305-332-7611, my cell, or 305-681-7893 x16, my office at Stainless Marine. This may be the last blast on this subject, as I am getting old too....

I've had a double whammy in my life history. Not only did they tear my street down after 41 years, they have sold the Marina where I live, Maule Lake, for the same reason, to build adobes for Yankees! Strangely enough, it has the same dates on the tombstone, 1962-2003.

In any case, if you havee a story, share it.

Dont forget me.........I want one too:cool:

:eureka: does "me scrounging through the pile of rubble that was once Fort Apache Marina, looking for something to remember the place by" count as a story??:p :D

T2x 01-15-2004 04:18 PM

Knowing Brownie as I do...... The book will no doubt be well thought out, entertaining, factual, precise and humorous........ like the author.

Good luck Buddy........

T2x..........wondering if the "naked masseuse in Ben's office" story would be helpful?

BROWNIE 01-16-2004 09:24 AM

T2x, Yes, naked is always good.......

188th St. Book

Brownie, I had the pleasure of working at Cigarette with Brownie for years. If anyone can re-count the events of that street it's Brownie. No one can tell a tale like the Man. Good Luck Brownie. My only complaint is that you got me hooked on boat building, now I am building my own/ w/Craig, broke, where are all the groopies I thought would go alon with boats?

Maybe for this crowd you should make a special edition.
188th St. For Dummies?
Good Luck Brownie
P.S. I still owe you a drink, Miami Show???
Your ol Buddy Scott:hothead:

Brownie, I'm in for a copy. I'm grateful that my brother and I came down to Miami to visit 188th a few months before Kramer had Mr. Aronow taken out. Don was very gracious showed us around the plant and we were not there to buy. What a loss.
