Default HPI Mufflers on Bacardi Silver

During the Holidays I took my 46' and 40' Bacardi Silver Skaters to Key West. They both have Sterling power but since the 40 is a race/pleasure model used primarily at LOTO, I have full time Borla mufflers in the tailpipes with CMI tips external. Prior to leaving for KW, I decided to put a set of HPI external clamp-ons on the 46' to keep the noise down for the local residents. Wow, was I surprised! Not only was the 46' race model quieter than my 40, I couldn't notice any loss in performance. Needless to say, I'm putting HPI's on my 40 prior to taking it back to Lake of the Ozarks this spring.

David-
Are your new clamp-ons 5" and "dry"? I've been trying to decide which mufflers to use. My biggest problem is that the tailpipes (for each engine) are only 1/2" apart.
Thanks
Due

Troutly - I don't think you'll be disappointed. These things really work.
Due - Mine are 5" units but wet. What does Dan say about the effectiveness of the dry units?

So...is the 46 the dingy for your yact in the background? You have to enter that in the shootout!

Default New Skater

Dave, I'm trying to put in-line mufflers in a new 36 Skater being built and Chris hasn't done any with wet exhaust. So I'm searching for solutions. How did you decide on the HPI's? And where did you put them? Whose tail pipes did you use? Also, how far back does the water go in?

Thanks, John B

Dave,

Met you at the Kilo run attempt in Muskegon, MI last July. Mike D introduced us ... I was the on-scene physician. Saw your boat tied up in Key West on the evening of Jan 2, but no sign of you or crew around. Did you have a good time there?
