Gas prices?

What's up with the gas prices (no pun here)?
I am seeing $1.65 for regular here, up from $1.43 about 2 weeks ago!
Is this what snowbirds bring with them or is this an oil company profit move?

SS930 01-15-2004 09:27 PM

It's all over the country, not just FL... diesel also.:hothead:

MnFastBoat 01-15-2004 09:51 PM

filled up just s few days ago 1.47
drove by the same station tonight, 1.69 :(

mopower 01-15-2004 10:09 PM

I'm sure it's got to due with the cold snap. Increased production of home heating oil and less gas , so the have to charge more for the gas.:hothead:
Gas here went from 1.28 to 1.44(regular) , diesel 1.41 to 1.58

open87 01-15-2004 10:26 PM

every morning for the past 2 weeks gas has gone up 2 -3 cents a day:mad:  :hothead:

JPD Motorsports 01-15-2004 10:28 PM

JPD Motorsports 01-15-2004 10:29 PM

Oh yea the news just blamed it on the northeners:D :D :D don't shoot the messenger:D

Mr. Demeanor 01-15-2004 11:20 PM

Listening to a program the other day stating that everything that usually precedes high fuel prices is here now. They were predicting major increases in the near future. Funny how $1.50 seems like a bargain in urban areas now.

Last january (2003), 100 miles west of Chicago in La Salle County, reg was 1.09 & prem(93) was 1.21. Thought it was gonna do the same this year, Iwas ready to stock up. Oh well, history does'nt repeat itself!!!

Rippem 01-15-2004 11:42 PM

Feds are siphoning off crude to replenish the strategic oil reserve + we've proved to the oil co's that we will pay anything in the last round of big prices. Our gas is still a bargain in the worldwide sense though some prophets are hinting at $3.00 a gallon this summer! It would not suprise me to be paying that on the water for 89 in July. Look at what's going on in gasoline futures before you call me crazy. Be prepared my friends...soon, like you've never seen before...the world is changing...;)

If gas is three bucks a gallon I'm going to have the boat in long-term storage and sit on the pier, watching all the sailboats blow by.

Donzi Corleone 01-16-2004 06:30 AM

Its so political and corrupt,I wont even go there!!!

Absolutely could not agree more. It has got nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with anything other than the fu*king greed of the oil companies. Last year, in one quarter, Exxon made a "NET" profit of over 700 million dollars, that's 700 million dollars NET profit in three friggin months. That's treason. The insurance industry, oil companies, and pharmaceutical (spelling?) companies are the three biggest lying entities in our country. (behind politics of course) Who needs to make 2.8 billions dollars net profit each year? And in "what name" do they need to make it. It makes me sick...................

JimmyBaja 01-16-2004 07:52 AM

Our prices have skyrocketed here in Nebraska also. I hope you guys are wrong about gas prices on the water next year. I was only paying 1.87 last summer.
Why are we in Iraq again??? Wasn't this for oil???

Jim :hothead:

Gizmo 01-16-2004 09:40 AM

The prices here in central Va. have gone up about .20 in the past month. Some places even more. Regular is averaging $1.40-1.50, premium $1.60-1.80.

CigDaze 01-16-2004 10:28 AM

Yep! Reg is going for about 1.57 right now here, it was like 1.35 two or three weeks ago.

simon johnston 01-16-2004 10:49 AM

simon johnston 01-16-2004 01:32 PM

Doller Offshore 01-16-2004 02:58 PM

If gas gets to 3.00 around election time Bush may make it to the oval office a second time.

Doller Offshore 01-16-2004 03:00 PM

Ooops, meant NOT

powerqrudy 01-16-2004 03:07 PM

I think it has to be political ...they want to drill in Alaska..we say no ..ok then how do you like 2.00 a gallon. Also I am not saying this is Bush but the oil companies are killing us, in 1999 in Detroit it was around 1.05 1.09 then right before y2k it was up to 1.35 and it has never came back ..makes me mad as hell !!

simon johnston 01-16-2004 03:17 PM

7 bucks a gallon ...... and weve got the north sea oil rigs...... tax tax tax tax tax

georges 01-16-2004 05:32 PM

...... tax tax tax tax tax [/B][/QUOTE]

That is one of the reasons why I don't live in France anymore!:D
