Where did all the Chris Cats go?

Thanks for the explanation. I've never had the problem in my Chris Cat or Daytona.
Does the tunnel tab create more of a problem because it's uses a "down" position to help "load" the tunnel at higher speeds, whereas K planes are usually "up" at higher speeds?
My cat currently has K planes, but I was giving a tunnel tab some thought.

Flash,
Are you running a tunnel tab? I remember T2x mentioning the tab reduced or eliminated the hop. Thanx for the pics by the way, great numbers too. I am glad you kept the arch.
Due,
Did you run a tunnel tab on your Chris?
rbtnt,
Saw the ad on the Chris at the lake, great looking boat with 525 Hawks I believe but a little pricey at $75K. There was one at the same broker 6 months earlier that was all white with 454's and 3's on the transom. The interior had completely been overhauled in white with a white dash and new white gauge package, they were asking $39k, sounds like a pretty good deal if the boat was dry and intact.

I am not runing a tunnel tab, although I have thought about it. I think Spectre offers them as a standard item on the their 30' cat, so they cant be all that bad. I think you need the tunel tab more if running on a big lake where the flat water conditions are more likely to produce the hop, especially running high constant speeds for a period of time. If the lake gets rough enough to worry about droping a sponson, I should not be running at high speeds, as it would mean that there is to much traffic on the lake to be going that fast anyway. I would be reluctant to run a tunnel tab in the open ocean, under conditions where you would be more likely to stuff it. I really dont think that porpoising would be much of a factor in the ocean, because its just totally different conditions. Your in and out of the throttle so much, porpoising would not seem to be a big factor. This is just my opinion.

I've never used a tunnel tab, but my friend with Hot Pursuit has one. His tab is shorter than the latest iterations like Dana Marine's and the one Spectre uses. He was going to build one for my Chris, but then I sold the boat. He used modified K Planes.
