Originally posted by Dueclaws Whirly- I have a friend who lives near New Orleans. He has a pair of 1,200 hp+ (14-71 blown 600"+) in his old Shadow Cat called Hot Pursuit. Uses _1-1_ ratio in the #3 drives (non crescent), 12" setback boxes and 3 blade props. He's run 155 plus in that thing. And No: I won't ride with him> But he claims it's a blast and rides great: even when almost the whole boat _lifts_ out of the water and basically rides on the props. I guess I'm getting old, but just the thought of that scares the _____ out of me!!!   Due |
I think he's just a lucky "Cajun"!

Bustin' Out
Not a race boat, it is privately owned by a guy in TX. Does Oil Field Equipment, hence "Bustin Out" is when a blow out occurs from a gas pocket- hairy stuff.
BIG set of monster motors 632 CI blown, etc. about 1000 hp on 92 octane, >1200 hp on Nitro- ? Speedy 3A's Claims to have seen 140 mph on the latter. Wow What was the max speed the hull was designed for ? I still want one of these bad boys, I think the design was way ahead of it's time. Wannabe |
