E Man-
Nice to hear from you!! The Project (like all of mine) is much greater than orginally anticipated, but we're moving forward (see Jaguar forum). The slowdown is because the composite shop is having the busiest "off season" they've ever had. So the Jag keeps being put on the side for more profitable work.
Say hi and let us see that CC when you're finished!!

My engines are going to the dyno this week.
(note the "special" 2" blower pulleys are for sale)

Motors are making almost 1400 hp each when you put the boost to them. It should make an interesting poker run boat.

Hi Steve:

With that power the top speed potential is well over anything we planned back in the day....... Be careful.... but you knew that....and anything you are associated with is always first class and well thought out......just watch your speed... I'm not so concerned with lift as I am with dropping a sponson in a straight away and bow steering into a barrel roll.

Say hi to your dad....... he was one of the driving forces behind the Chris Cat project.

Wasn't "American Express" a Chris? Remember it well in "Big Seas 85"! Lots of air on that tape!
Sonny's Cat is a Chris and still running. There is another in the area as well. We had to change the bottoms to stop the porposing. There are also a couple of Shadows here.

Yes, American Express....both of them...were Chris Cats. The first was Stu Hayim's...The second was Bob Molinari's...... two different boats.

Remember the words on the tape? "Don't lose her, don't lose her!"

What causes a cat to "drop a sponson"?

Exclamation

Due, powering thru a quartered sea and essentially riding on the stern of one of the sponsons, can load the opposite bow down into the water allowing the cat to 'push' on the radius of the hull and turn the boat.........That's why you have to be real careful with tunnel tabs, as they can accentuate a bow down landing, especially when you unexpectedly land in a hole.
