I have an '03 F350 with the 6.0 and had problems around 10,000 miles. Ford installed a new '04 engine (new style injectors and ECU program) and it has been absolutely awesome. The five speed auto works great for towing and it's hard to beat the ride of the crew cab dually.

Troutly,
Would you suggest the air bags instead of the camper package overloads or both?
I ordered my 2000 F-250 with max GVW front springs and it brought it to almost level height in the front and wasn't to stiff.

Ford just took back our 03 Excursion with the 6.0. It had many problems...
I just towed our Top Gun this past weekend for the first time with our 04 2500 HD with the Duramax and love it. It pulls a little better off the bottom than the 6.0, the suspension is better (compared to the X, My F-350 felt about the same), and the brakes are definitely better.
Good luck getting yours taken back. It took about 3 months for Ford to come through with our check.
