Does anyone have any experience with algrip paint, is it true you can apply it with a brush????????

roller.. brush.. spray.. it self levels..

but you can tell.. works good in engine compartments

i don't know about the brush thing, i've allways
sprayed it on and awlcraft 2000 is better to use
it's painter friendly.you can repair it

Spray is the best application for Awlgrip. This product is very tough. One of the most durable coatings in the paint industry. It's also very expensive and difficult to work with. Temperature is vital. If your outside the temp window it will run. If your application is heavy it will run. It tough to sand out, most applications are spray and leave.

Unless you have a specific application that would need extra durability I would suggest a standard two part part imron or deltron.

Also don't forget this stuff is REAL toxic so make sure you have a VERY good NEW mask when you spray it.

I used it last fall to paint my bilge and engine compartment. I brushed it on and it turned out real well, you can't really tell it was brushed. I wouldn't brush it on an external surface like the hull though.

Definitely use a respirator, and wear gloves. It's difficult to get the paint off your hands/skin if it dries.

I bought a gallon, but only used about half of it even with 3 coats of paint.

brush it on then get a second and third color (smaller amount)and a clean brush... dip the brush in the other color and hold a 2" x 18" wood rod and hit the wet brush up against the wood in a downward stroke and you can splat paint the engine compartment.. with three colors very easy.. test it on a big piece of card board to get the desired look

If I recall correctly, this is the stuff I used in bilge. Absolutly indistructable. I have found that fuel and battery acid will stain it, but it takes a prolonged exposure to have the stain appear. It also has proven to be very scratch resistant. The comment about the respirator is absolutly correct. This is some nasty stuff! I rolled my bay using a 1.5" foam roller. You can't even tell.
